Moto-X » McGrath for Bercy!

Friday, 26th October 2007

Fans left disappointed by Ricky Carmichael's withdraw from the Paris-Bercy Supercross will be delighted to hear that his place has been taken by fellow AMA legend Jeremy McGrath.

Comment on this Story
Bercy should have been Carmichael's final race before retirement, but the most successful rider in AMA history was forced to withdraw after being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

However, McGrath - the most successful rider in AMA Supercross history, with seven premier-class titles, the last in 2000 - will now come out of retirement to take RC's place. McGrath, a former King of Bercy, retired from full time Supercross/Motocross competition at the start of 2003 and has since spent his time racing occasionally on both two and four wheels.

Another former AMA Supercross champion, Chad Reed, is also confirmed for the November 9th-11th event and will thus join the likes of reigning AMA Motocross champion Grant Langston, plus fellow AMA stars Andrew Short and Josh Grant.

The Motocross World Championships will also be represented with Mike Brown, Sebastien Pourcel and Nicolas Aubin scheduled to attend.
