In his latest of his exclusive Crash.net columns, Chaz Davies gives a detailed account of his dramatic AMA debut in the season-ending Mid-Ohio round of the Formula Xtreme and Supersport championships...
Well, it’s been a very long time since I last wrote but as you can probably imagine I haven’t been up to a great deal... until recently. As I write I am trucking across Pennsylvania, CB in hand, chatting away to Chuck and munching on a Krispy Kreme doughnut and a box of Oreo’s. That’s all a joke, but I am going across Pennsylvania.
My summer was spent mainly at home on the Welsh borders. I kept myself busy doing my usual things and also had a lot of fun with all my friends before they went off to University.
In August we all went to St. Davids (smallest city in the UK don’cha know!?) on the west coast of Wales for about four days which was a lot of fun. There was me and about 11 other friends. We all stayed in a holiday home belonging to one of my friend's parents and although the weather was pretty poor every day that we were there we went to the beach, got ourselves some wet suits and got involved in the sea. Amongst plenty of other antics! We had a real nice time.
At home I did a lot of minibike riding with my dad and a few friends. My dad’s bought a newer digger (upgraded from a 1969 model JCB to a state of the art 1989 Komatsu!) which he spent half of his summer in, fettling the track and constantly tweaking parts of it. I realise that I am spoilt when it comes to regular motorsports! Karting, MX, Minibike and Supermotard all within a few hundred metres of my bedroom door. We can’t get enough!
