In yet another blistering display of one-lap pace the 22-year-old took his fourth pole in successive races to give him the ideal starting position for tomorrow's 30-lap main event.
If Pedrosa is running in second, then Stoner will let him through to win. Stoner doesn't need the win, and the glee in the Ducati camp (after all the bull from Rossi and his fans towards Casey this year) to see Rossi denied the runner-up spot would be massive. Go Dani - you have a red guardian angel helping you tomorrow!

I don't think Casey takes the unfavourable comments from this site personally, its's the Stonerettes that do.

Some of the interviews recently made by Livio Suppo seem to indicate the Ducati team is pretty fed up with some of the comments/excuses from the Rossi camp this year. I think Frankie has made an interesting point. If Stoner is presumably leading, and knows Rossi is not riding or outside the points, if Pedrosa was behind, would he let him through? It must be very tempting.

It will be very interesting to see if Casey helps Dani or not... Hadn't tought of it before.
I dont think stoner is so low life to do "any of that" maybe he wont chase the first position as dany will but i think that only some of te ones who comment in here would let anyone pass anyone just to punish anyone.. and of course they are the one who write all that **** about each side...

Considering Dani's lap times, he must be able to go for victorie on his own.. Altough I prefer a Ducati win tough..

Stoner winning over Pedrosa is even better: "Here, chap. is the second place for you, hope you can manage your second spot better next year."

I don't think Dani needs such support...He's a big boy, he can do it alone

Dani can do it alone, but if Casey helps him he can take it...
But why should Casey help Dani anyway?? If Vale won't race or if he is riding outside the points and Casey if 1st and Dani 2nd, Dani would take the 2nd place too
No Catarina - your maths are wrong. If Rossi doesn't score, and Dani wins, then he will just secure 2nd place. But if he comes second, only 20 points - not enough.

There's no chance of Stoner letting Pedrosa win just to 'get at' Rossi. I don't think Stoner really cares who finishes second and Ducati would hate to see any race win given away, particularly to a Honda rider, who would then get all the publicity/credit. Stoner has shown since winning the title taht he still wants to win every race, and win 11 on Sunday would put him level with Rossi's best in a single season. The lost money in terms of win bonuses for Ducati from its sponsors etc would also be considerable. Add to that the fact that 100 Ducati Corse staff are coming to watch the race. It won't happen.
Casey is a racer - if he can win it, he will. I doubt if it would even occur to him to let another rider through however much the anti-Rossi brigade might want him to. I hope he and Dani get stuck into a real race to liven up a season that has not been one of the best.
Casey is a good aussie boy and throwing a win just doesn't come into our mentality. He wouldn't do that even if Dani was a fukcing pom!!!

Poor Stoner - is stuck for life with Ducati coz thats the only bike he can do something on. He'll retire with Ducati coz there's no other bike he can do anything with anyway like he didnt in the past . He will never dare change to another bike in the years that are coming - coz he is not as good. imagine those scenarios: Stoner qualifying in the first row and then the Ducati taking him with his power - so there is never ever any chances of a battle. that's the ONLY way he'll ever do anything in his racing career and we will be the witnesses of it all.

in that case, maybe we could all close our eyes and visualize stoner on a suzuki or a honda, repsol or gresini, which one you prefer..not alone yamaha! and what would we see? but OK ...that is unreal...apart that this imaginary exercise just helps to put stoner back to place where he belongs, when it comes to GOOD riding

Stoner is a class rider as much as ALL of them are class riders; some are capable of doing a bit more than the others... who understands will know what i mean

Hey Simon, who is the thick one ???? You are still there, we are free to live in a country that produces some of the best sportsmen and women in the world without needing the population to do it !!!!! Go Casey !!!!!!!!

The only sensible comment here is by Team Green. Of course Stoner won't give away a win. There isn't a rider out there who would give away a win, unless under strict orders to help their teammate, like Dani last year. If Rossi can race with a broken wrist and still claim a point, then he deserves the championship runner up spot. If Dani can go out and win it, then he deserves it too. Who cares? 2nd is first of the losers. Stoner will blow them all away anyway: the Hondas are only on the front row because of the Michelin qualifier
