Interesting that Rossi was over a second quicker on qualifiers compared to race tyres but Casey was slower on his qualifier compared to race tyre wonder what that means if anything. Looking at other times conditions seem far from ideal.
Getting closer but still a way to go, come on Vale.......

Good to see Rossi getting back in form but its also good to see Hayden staying on top as well. I hope Nicky makes perdrobot eat his words and Rossi shows Lorenzo what a real champion is!!!

still just a test without main rivals, but reason for hope. Close racing in 08, that's all I ask for....
Rossi faster on qualy's than Stoner when they were there but not as fast as Stoner on race tyres but this is just day 1 looking good for Rossi and Yamaha thank god
Well we was saying give the guys competetive bikes & tyres & they will do the business.
I'm sure that some of the doubters about Rossi & Hayden will be silenced before too long.
I would'nt mind a season with some good battles between Rossi/Hayden/Pedrosa/Stoner, I can't see Lorenzo or Melandri being up there evey race but can see them battling up there some weeks too.
Although I have my favorite riders in MotoGP. I have long awaited the day when to see some racing like we see in the 125 class up in MotoGP. That would be awesome!

I think it was a smart move by Rossi to miss PI and go to Sepang where there are only 8 riders on the track.....and now he has topped the Q time set this winter, that should give him great confidence for the next 2 tests. It is a shame about Pedrosa having the injury as it might take him a while to get up to speed again......but to think we might see a Rossi - Stoner battle......bring it on ;)
I'm not sure they 'missed' Sepang, rather a concious decision. He is testing new tyres and a new engine so they need a good reference track. Changing tp PI would only put more variables into the equasion. Besides this way he could rest his healing hand a bit longer, the testing puts quite a strain on them.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that Rossi is the main Bridgestone runner here so he can get all the focus on him instead of haveing to compete for attention with Ducati, Kawasaki, Suzuki etc. Good thinking!

Just read it was only the 'normal' engine, not the pneumatic valve spring.
