Stoner wins BMW.

Stoner wins BMW.

Stoner won his first BMW sports car at the 2007 Valencia season finale, when he wrapped up the best qualifier of the season award, and the Australian picked up where he left off at a wet Jerez.

Rossi w/ Bridgestones 1.3 secs behind! That is HUGE!
Admittedly, Pedrosa would have done 1 sec better than Hayden but that is still 0.5 behind Stoner. Things ain't looking good in 2008 either, the first half will be a boring Stoner in the distance with occasional scraps between Bstones's Rossi and Michelins's Pedrosa...

Vale did a decent job for his first outing on Bridgestone wets, he'll get there.
Main thing is to learn and stay in one piece before the start of the season.
Enjoy the moment boys

The Morgue......I agree with you, he did !! But that was Caseys first time out on the bike and possibly new BS in the wet as well......Casey has been good to us and given us a lot of enjoyable moments and I am sure there is going to be more ;)

Stoner set the best time half way through the session and didn't bother going out for most of it.

If this session is a indication of the season ahead then it's going to be just as boring as last season. Give on give us some close racing again or just take 1 spark plug out of Stoner's engine.

I hope to enjoy motogp this season as much as I did before the 800's arrived.

Proof, once again that the duc's TC is still the best. TC, like ABS, shows greater improvement the lesser the skills. Melandri needs to forget what he knows about riding a motogp bike, and go (put the TC on max, rather than min) and whack it open is if he where riding his aprillia 125 bike...

Is it me or is that colour scheme of James Toseland ugly?

Yeah, it aint the prettiest bike, but it gets better every time he puts a faster lap in than the more established motogp riders. Go JT!!

even a half headed person will tell that this is pure TC stuff.. i like casey not just bcoz i'm an aussie but coz hez a great rider.. but come on guys.. see the difference is more than 1 second and plus he was fast from the start and absolutely did not have to work hard even under braking.. hez not any alien or something.. now dont say tht the other dukes were too far behind. melandris style is no match for the ducati as hez used to the honda which he liked to slip n slide..

Hey ken lets apply the law of averages, The Ducati is nearly at the bottom, the Yamaha is near the top with Honda.....Soooo your comment isnt acurate to say the least.

Hopefully it was because Vale was out on BS wet tyres for the first time. I just think he needs to understand and test more with the BS wets. His first time out on BS dry tyres weren't the fastest too. I don't think this is an idication for the following season.
Vale wasn't that fast in qualifing last year, but in the race he showed good pace untill the tyres or the Yamaha gave up!

yeah.. decent time for rossi considering its only his first outing with Bstones in the wet.. good job.. ;)

where was west and vermeulen? the so called masters in wet?

@Duke @ ee - if its a new BS in the wet that casey was using then i pressume its much better than what he's using last year..

Gary....Our enjoyable moments dont come a long very often in MotoGP although I am sure you will find a lot of us enjoyed watching Rossi win.......but that changed when people started slamming Casey.....now it is even more pleasurable to see him win just to shut the critics up. ;)

Give Casey credit were its due, just compare his time to the other Ducati riders with the same TC system, did anyone hear the comment from Julian Ryder about all the yanaha test riders using bridgestone tyres, not good news if you are a yamaha rider using Michelins!

Well I've just woken up after the 'Round ZZZZZZZZZZZzero' thing. Is it me, or was that a massive anti-climax?? And incredibly boring?

Casey Rocks, but Moto GP is going to suck if we have another boring season.

I remember turning the TV off watching Moto GP in 2007, imagine doing that before the 800cc class?

Melandri, Rossi, Hayden used to get the back end out, smoking it. Now it's Software based F1 style 'calculations'. Yamaha admit they couldn't work out how to save fuel last year, and so turned the power down. Ducati worked it out - and sailed past the competition. Very good skills at Ducati & Casey, but man it sucks to watch.

I don't care who wins, but we need last lap, last corner battles, surely?
(Sigh). So much for that 42' Plasma TV I got to watch the racing!!!!

okay I could be wrong about this but I think Casey Stoner participated in this event feeling not 100% fit since he's still recovering from surgery which is certainly impressive.
