Qatar night test times - Thursday.

The two-night test marks the first time that MotoGP bikes have ridden on a floodlit circuit and the last chance for track time before the inaugural MotoGP night race, to be held back at Losail on March 9, opens the 2008 racing season.

Stoner immediately fast again.

I am sure he is only fast because of the colour of the Ducati which gives him an unfair advantage under the lights!!!

Go Stoner you good thing!

Day or night, dry or rain this kid can do it all.

The gap between him and the rest of the Ducs is impressive.

And when i say rest i mean Melandri, the former 250cc world champion, and multiple motogp winner.

Rossi is 1.4 seconds slower than Stoner!

However he's never ridden Bridgestones on this track and has no Data from last year.
(As will happen on all tracks this year for him in 2008).

Which explains Casey Stoners time... Still Rossi knew the risks of going solo for Bridgestone....

I'm sure Vale will always be better on the second day of any track they go to that Vale doesn't have data for.

It is common sense really.

Day one: Gather data.
Day two: Get some idea
Quali: Set a decent time.
Race day: Win.

As a typical cynical Brit, gotta say... Go JT... he's performing better than I thought he would (even though I hoped he would do well)... You are doing us proud lad!

I love how you Rossi fanatics are quick to defend Rossi's time, you guys are so quick to pull out the trye thing. Stoner was on new tyres and a new bike last year and he still won. How about credit where credit is due the little maniac can bloody ride!

Of course James Toseland would be up front...if the kid was good enough to beat Bayliss...he's good enough to compete with these guys even with a satelite team! I wouldn't bet against Rossi.....Rossi is still the best when the race starts. I love Ducati and Stoner gets my respect but cmon guys...1 championship doesn't make you better than Rossi....r you kidding me??

I did not say he was better then Rossi but hes just as good and time will prove me right, the main point i was making is can we stop making excuses for the Dr if hes that great then different tryres are not going to slow him down

Stupot i can say the same about Stoner. If Stoner was that great then why didn't win a championships before. Why did he have to change bike a few times in order to be at the top? why could he win pedrosa? Why did he have to change tires?

Last year was his second year in MotoGP! Geez! Everyone knows that Rossi has the most successful career of any recent rider. Also it is obvious to all with an open mind that Stoner is currently the RIDER that everybody is trying to beat. I don't hear anybody saying we must beat Rossi if we are to win the Championship! Also no one is saying that we must beat ALL the Ducati's if we are to win the Championship. They are only saying we must beat one rider and one Ducati to win.

Parker Parker- You got it.....Like your last sentence especially, sums it up perfectly...
And that said being that reality has long past set in for most mere mortals, you still have to wonder what kind of wacky mind altering fantasy substances some of these team clown followers are apparently 'still' taking eh

Should we have a bet on what will be their primary excuse this year? They will have to be creative especially if JT and JL do well on the Yamaha and Casey, Hopkins and CV do well on the Bridgestones.
I reckon they will say that the Bridgestones don't work on a Yamaha as they are designed for Ducati's. Or maybe they will say that Bridgestone are favouring Casey (not like Michelin favoured Rossi for 5 years or anything!). Or what about this one - Burgess is not setting the bike up properly because he wants an Australian to win! That could get some air time I think!

Yeah Ash, I guess you would be right if you were referring to 2005 and earlier! But this is now 2008 and Rossi hasn't won too many races since.

Really though I have no doubt that Rossi will be up there and I hope he is because I will enjoy Stoners victories all the more because of it. You know what is so great about Stoner's victories? They are won against the greatest rider in recent history. We never got to see Rossi up against the previous great (Mick Doohan) so we were never able to see if he could match it with the best. We only got to see him beat a bunch of average riders. At least we know with Stoner that he has been able to match and beat the best!

Stoner wasn't any quicker on the satellite Honda than Dovi, Randy the Puniet or de Angelis are. That Duc monster simply suits him better and vice versa. They're the perfect match.

Ban the electronics for ever !
