125: Smith secures debut pole.

The 17-year-old's Friday time soon came under pressure from reigning world champion Gabor Talmacsi during the early part of the final session, but the Hungarian remained a fraction behind a still-to-improve Smith as the closing minutes began.

Cannot believe we English have had such an amazing qualifying session. Lets hope one of them can win our first gp since McWilliams.

What do you mean he walded away unhurt. It looked painful to me. It took him a few minutes to get up. He was crawling for a bit too. I hope he's ok cause this race is his tomorrow.

what do you mean, unhurt. Hew was crawling on the ground for quite a bit. That looked pretty painful to me. I hope he's OK because tomorrow is his race for sure. He was blazing today. Judging by race time, Edwards and Toseland have no chance although it's good to see them at the top. Michelin need a race tire because they've got qualy locked down.

@ fireblade: Jeremy McWilliams was from Northern Ireland, he's in no way English. Anyway, lets hope Bradders can get a victory. Would be good for him to start off the races well. Likewise the other Brits. No doubt Toby and Julian will be going mad if they do.

it looked pretty painful to me too - it always does when the rider doesnt get on his feet after a few seconds. hopefully he s relatively ok for the race.

I'm really pleased for all the brits but as i watch the sunday morning news i cannot belive that bradley and co didn't even get a mention.
James T did recieve a 30 second slot before they went back to football, then rugby and cricket.
Toby,Julian and Randy (although they did spoil it during motogp qualify and say Bradley had pole.) were saying this hasn't happen since the Barry Sheene era so why aren't the british press getting to grips and reporting on some real sporting news.
I hate football

he may of meant adopted as in Hopkins who is mostly american, but seen as sort of british ish.

Great to see all the boys up there!

always cheered on Mcwilliams, tho it always seemed wrong that(not meant as offense to him in anyway as he always tried) that he was the one given the chance in GP year after year when he was not really up to top 10 standard of brits in world supers. but that seemed to be the way of grand prix racing at the time i suppose.

I wish them all luck for the season ahead!

Way to go Bradley! What a fantastic sight it was to see not only Bradley Smith on pole but to have Scott Redding and Danny Webb right up there too! WooHoo!

Only spoiled (a bit) by Toby Moody telling us "Without wishing to let the cat out of the bag" yeah I think that cat left town as soon as you said that Toby and spoiled the surprise of actually letting us SEE the qualifying! (which was to be shown NEXT) GRRR!

Anyway, apart from that. Great stuff!

Same old, same old though from the commentators. If you're English and plucky (ie not winning) you're British. As soon as you start to win, you are English. The reverse is true if you are from outside England.

I for one will be cheering on the riders REGARDLESS of where they are from!
Ok, rant bit over.
