Well another demonstration on how to win a race by Ducati and Stoner. Although there wasnt much straight line advantage this year. If it was all straight line Lorenzo would have closed the rest of the circuit but he didn't and where was Melandri... Lorenzo had an excellent race too spanking the other works Yamaha. Im sure ill hear moans of tires tires tires, but there is only one reason Rossi is on Bridgestone and that's Rossi, if he had not thrown his toys out of the pram last year he would be on the same tire as his team mates. Excellent run by Toseland and Devisioso as well. Can't wait till Toseland gets the new bike as they clearly lack speed on the straights.

Congrats to Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa (what an amazing start Damage control by Valentino - pity Dovi pipped him to the finish line.
No surprise that Casey and Ducati won but I'm really impressed by Lorenzo. The boy has it to make it in MotoGP as well! Well done, Jorge! Valentino probably had a problem with his bike or tyres. It's not easy for him at the moment. The pressure is on from the youngsters. Now it's not only Stoner but also his own teammate Lorenzo.

What's an amazing race ! motogp but just like 250cc ! overtaking many many times ! Rossi not much power or B tyre not comfortable yet ??? Lorenzo, a wonder boy, very fast, Stoner on his own class again ! Dovi, like i predicted got 4-6th, and he made it to 4th place, Lorenzo 2nd, better than I expected. JT still in 4-6th place, he made 6th afterall. Desmo-Duct still very much overpowered the other and Stoner made it good, eventually MM has the top speed ! next next will b many2x great Race, by young-talented ryder.....Go Go MotoGP ! may best ryder win !

I thought Ducati didn't have the speed advantage of last year? Still 5 mph faster.
DUCATI: 334.4 Km/h Rossi: 326.0 Km/h
Rossi frustrated too with Bridgestone- his tyres were 'shot' according to Randy Mamola.
Good Job Lorenzo + Toseland + Dovi.
Roll on next race.

Race time 26 seconds faster than last year. Get to the front and grind the opposition down with consistency. Well done CS but it looks like 2008 will be a competitive year. Rossi will be back at the front at Jerez.

Well there won't be too many GP's this year where Michelin can get data for the race weekend at a test the week before. Expect Bridgestone to show much stronger results at the coming GP's. Not a bad start to the season though!

for those who dont read the other thread
Waits for rossi haters to kick off....
but if anyone has any sense of motogp, they'll know rossi's tyre's were done half way through that race.
Stoner...same old really, that whole package works well.
Lorenzo...good job, real good solid ride and has shown if michelin are this strong at every round, he could possibly be in for the title.
Pedrosa...Well done with the hand, good solid ride and made hayden look stupid.
Dovi...Not bad, 2nd honda and a good battle on last lap with rossi.
Rossi...I think he'll be happy, and think, lets get to a normal race where temp's are normal and see how my tyre's work with this bike.
Toseland...brilliant i think, considering how slow his bike was down the straight, he really stuck it out in the twisty bits and didnt mind a bit of fairing bashing, also look at the people he beat, his own team mate who's on his 3rd year on the bike, caparossi, hayden, melandri...not bad hey.
This race is pretty similar to last year tho, stoner first on bridgestone, yamaha 2nd on michelin, lets hope the rest of the races this season can be like the start of this one the whole way through.
Lets the aussie's gloat for now, i think we saw at the start of the race where rossi is when the tyre's are working this season...roll on the next (normal) race.
I was really blown away by that lightning start Pedrosa made... amazing. like he put all his frustration of the past period in one move! coming in third on a bike he hardly tested is fantastic.
Also Perdosa surpized a LOT, a damaged hand, couldn't test this winter whatta ride he did.
Well, Rossi did his best... he will have to fight very very hard if he wants the title this year. I will not bet on him.

truely gutted.. first 8 or so laps i found were amazing and good to watch but as soon as Stoner got to the front it got boring.. it amazes me how he can just pull away like that.. but anyways it was a good ride and the other ducatis were nowhere.. hope rossi and lorenzo can take it to stoner

what a load of ***** it's a bore, all the talented riders are at the back of the field take away the rider aids and the rookies would have been nowhere, the talent has been taken away from this sport

I dont think rossi will make excuses, it was plain to see his tyre was shot.
Lets face it, like i've said...people who have sense and know motogp, know that this race is a one off, the temp was way off and lets face it, rossi was 2nd bridgestone and 5th in the race, he had to start from scratch this weekend, just like most weekends, no previous data to work on, apart from the test...and he was way down in the tests, i think he'll take the result and move on...
I dont like the idea of these night races, i think a day race would have been much more exciting for the fans and a lot closer in the finish, but hey, we'll see what Jerez brings...wasnt rossi faster than stoner in preseason there???
