Valentino Rossi has revealed that MotoGP riders will meet to discuss the possibility of a protest in support of Tibet at next month's Chinese Grand Prix.
"But we need to be careful, or else they will arrest all of us." hahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah I can imagine that all riders arrested with smile on their faces;P

Those guys are citizens of the world . I'm not bothered by the fact they use their brains and inluence on people through their image. At least some understand they're not only sandwichmen carrying sponsor's messages, but they have the opportunity to share opinions too. Freedom, fairplay and respectful behaviour are part of motorcycling.

Good to see that someone has a conscience and is not simply a mouthpiece for their sponsors. As for being arrested, I wouldn't put anything past the regime that exists in China at the moment. That's why I remain a Rossi fan - he is a human being and allows us to see that he is too. Good on yer Vale!

He's been racing in China for years but only now does he think of their human rights record. Why not when a Chinese GP was first mentioned ? or at the first event ? Tibet is not new its been going on for years, and the current protests are based around the Olympics. Forget it, its not appropriate.

And again MotoGP gets one over F1 ...
While these guys are standing up for human rights & in the press for all positive reasons, F1 is suffering yet another image damaging scandal!

He should stick to sports and stay clear of politics. Whatever sympathy he may have for the Tibetans, taking sides with the Tibetan dissidents will not help to further their cause. Doing that will rather offend the Chinese government and the fans that he has from China. Or maybe is it just a fading star trying to do something conspicuous to regain the attention that was lost to newcomers like Stoner and Lorenzo?

From the report it sounds like it'll be some form of group protest done by all/most riders so don't get too caught up in it being just about Rossi. He just seems to be the one who spoke about it...
"WE need to be careful, or else they will arrest ALL of US".
My country has supported Tibet's freedom since before it was popularised by hollywood types......Too late Vale...where were you years ago when innocent people were murdered, locked up, exiled or had to flee for their lives and live in another country becuase of there border and beleifes......
I have always been %100 behind freeing Tibet......for many years, This Rossi thing smacks of sensationlism......I donk like it!
This feels like part of Rossi's master plan to re-unite the %50 of his fan base that bailed out on him on after he was caught cheating the tax office.
Way to go chumpppp

Mavis, the fact that they're thinking to protest only now doesn't turn it to a bad example. Rossi was working on his own life like 99% of the world... You're thinking in Tibet since a long time, congrats to you, but if you think everybody should have the same thoughts and feelings as you at the same time as you you're not very smart. Wake up.
