Stoner stunned by camera error.

Sort Comments:

Stoner stunned by camera fault.

Ducati MotoGP project director Livio Suppo believes Casey Stoner's sixth place in Sunday's Portuguese Grand Prix was 'one of his best races' - as the MotoGP world champion battled set-up problems and loose camera equipment.

Stoner will bounce back in China and silence all the armchair critics who have written him off so prematurely. Jorge and the Hobbit will push him hard though. Rossi is still a major talent but I don't think he has enough left to beat these kids but is still capable of top 4 finishes at every race, so maybe consistancy will work for him like it did for Hayden in 2006! Poor Marco, I'm gutted to see a top rider of his ability struggling to finish 13th, hope he sorts it out with Ducati or moves to another team before it's too late, as there's a few more fast kids in 250s who will be kicking in the door for next seasons rides.

Damn! And Melandri last year with a flapping leaking water bottle pipe in his helmet had a totally different response, in one of the races where he got a podium...wow!

boooooooo boooooooooooo what a loser !!!

cant he accept the fact that he wasnot the fastest bridestone rider. was the camera the reason why he was so slow in all free practices and qualifying also ????

ok camera might have been a problem but.. thats not the reason for slow lap time.haha wonder what he will blame next when rossi whips his ass in china.... may be he might say its the chinese noodles that he got stuck in his ass

Okay, Stoner has the right to complain, something like that could have caused more serious safety problems or if it had whipped off its cabling it could have hurt another rider, but I wonder what he would have said if his bike did something like Elias's on Friday.

Hogshead I totally agree with your comment, especially about Rossi. It's impossible to keep the level of motivation as high as those mad youngsters, especially after a so long and successful career like his. The man is a walking legend. I believe his move to Bridgestone was a panic move, and one which may well cost him a lot of competitiveness. I also believe the 800s make it difficult for him to play his fav tactics. Never before were we seeing Rossi trying to lead a race when he actually couldn't brake away.

Stoner is going to have it more difficult this year. And of course he will kick some **s in the following races, two bad races are nothing for so long of a season...

One must agree with the 3 ex MotoGP multi-champions known as chu chu, Gina and ash... who seem to know all about riding a bike.... sorry, sorry sorry! I ment to say all 3 can ride a bicycle with support wheels and no TC!!! Gina even have a basket hanging form the handlebar, so she knows all about these kind of steering limitations (beside the one in here head), chu chu (he?she? it??) is a expert on these front wheel drive 3 wheel bicycles, and ash may even had some time on the MotoGP PC game, thus knows it all!

rob w you ought to pay more attention to what has been said. Casey said he didn't know what the piece was during the race. He only learned it was a camera after he finished the race by the engineers. He wasn't sure if it was a sensor or some other delicate part.

You come across as someone desperately deficit of intellect posting comments such as "chuck it way". These guys are rolling out at over 250KPH and you want to throw debris down the track potentially causing significant injury or possibly death to another rider. Use your brain man.

More details f the situation here

not at all Rocky..just comparing responses of two different riders to similar situations - in fact - M elandri's situation last year would've been worse as the water was pouring into his helmet and obscuring his vision..yet no big drama at the end of the race...

Why did he not just rip it off and chuck it!! like the man says it was only on a couple of scabby wires, he should have lobbed the damn thing that would have solved the problem for him then he may have come 3rd or 4th. hes a bit of a twit isnt he.

Sorry xvx like rob I pay no attention but I still think he should have pulled it off and chucked it, safely of course seems CS aint the only twit its lucky for everyone else on the grid I dont ride one of those bikes
or we could consider it showmanship, perhaps CS was indulging in a little equipment lobbing. Dont tell JL or he'll nick the idea.

Get your facts straight: Stoner was the fourth faster rider in the race, and Rossi wasn't even in the first three...
