Ducati could call up Bayliss, Biaggi.

Ducati could call up Bayliss, Biaggi.

Ducati's MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has had 'confusing' start to the 2008 season - dominating the opening Qatar night round, but then suffering handling problems with the new machine at both Jerez and Estoril.

it sounds to me that ducati are struggling and that stoner couldnt setup a dvd player

UM - Stoner isn't racing a dvd player.... there's a difference, Wayne, a Ducait has two wheels. With two eyes open, you could tell the difference. Ducati wouldn't be the first factory that hasn't listened to its riders. Ducati are trying to make a bike with a very small budget by comparison to any of the Jap. manufacturers be competitive and this year it's pretty obvious that the compromises are adding up to a turkey. Stoner is far ahead of any of the other Duc pilots so either he manages to get his own bike better or he's a damn site better rider - or both. Melandri was always much closer to his team mate on any other bike than he is on the Duc so Stoner has to be doing something right.

Finally! At least they are starting to address the problem, but they are only doing it because Casey is not winning.

If Casey was OK I think they'd let Marco and the satellite team struggle along all season.

lets have it right guys stoner hardly put any development into the bike the bike was ready to win races granted cs had to bring it home but ex ducati riders have all struggled ie capirossi gibernau and now melandri why cs is more confident is that ducati as normal focus on the one rider rule and history has proven that theory right ie cappa gibernau having very little help and then given the boot what you see now is ducati reaching its peak in development and to move it forward you need experienced riders not 20 somethings who got lucky in development terms.so due to melandri not having experince with the duke and for that matter casey(development) they have to look elsewhere.

Lol..what happens when Bayliss laps faster than Melandri or even Stoner?? Sounds like a ploy to get the Baylisstic missile back on the moto gp bike.........Biaggi is foaming at the mouth because we all know that he wants to be in Moto gp but just settled for WSBK. Capirossi struggled on the 07 bike until the end of the season...Melandri appears to be following his footsteps. Gibernau didn't struggle on the 06 bike..he just couldn't win races...lol I read somewhere that you had be aggressive on the 08 bike to get the most out of it....Melandri/Capirossi's riding style are smooth and technical...Ducati needs another "i don't care if I crash riding off the seat of his pants" kinda guy.

Capirossi's the guy developing the bike in 07. Stoner's just riding it. Without Capi, Duc's stagnating. Max & Troy had better start looking into the Duc before its too late!

I think that if GP8 does not work, they should go back to GP7 until GP8 is competitive.
GP7 proved to be unbeatable. ;)

Wow Wayne, you sure know a lot about MotoGP !

The 800 Duke was a new bike in 07 and a new tyre brand for Casey. Capirossi was consistantly faster than Stoner in testing and won one race and had 2 second places and a third place plus a lot of 5ths and 6ths and was really coming to grips with the Ducati 800 late in 07. Im sure Ducati didn't develop the bike for Stoner in 07 more likely for Capi.
They obviously thought that Melandri would be better than Capi and I'm betting they are kicking their ****s now..

woof woof

hey you sound rather annoyed there caseys dog.there are some people out there that arnt blinded by the stoner babble.and has you yourself has admitted that capirossi made probable advances with the ducati rather than stoner then it backs up my argument that stoner cant develop the bike fully and they have to look else where has shown in the last couple of races ;)

Do Ducati need old saylors' advice because Stoner won just one of three races ????
The problem is Melandri.

It is Gibernau who was able to draw most out of GP7 than Capirossi. Capirossi run 1 second slower on GP7 than his GP6. On Motegi 06 test, Gibernau break 1.40s barrier with GP7 and capable tune it to the highest peak and smooth at the same time.

Stoner on the other hand, only tune it for it's peak until recently on GP8 looking out for smoothness.

Experiences is everything to be ahead on development. Riding on YZR500, NSR500V2, Suzuki 500, NSR500, RC211V, GP6 and GP7 gives Gibernau the most experiences rider on the MotoGP premier class.

I think its a great Idea, Casey has a wring its neck style like Baylisstic, and The DarkSide has a very smooth Ultra 2fiddy style thats back in vogue.
Get it done Ducati.

The biggest diff to last year is the BS front tyre, sort the front and everything will fall into place.

i think it's a fabulous and exciting idea ! It's an outside-the-box idea and this is where Ducati is at its strongest.
i surely hope they'll do it, and find out what's troubling the GP8 soon.

Fit a sidecar to Stoners bike and stick Rossi in it. At least that way the Krusty will get to experience what it's like winning a GP before the big-top closes! ;) Too funny ostrich groupies...
