While most expected the Japanese factories to close the gap on the Italian marque in 2008, after a dream 2007 season in which it won all three MotoGP titles, the biggest surprise has been that the four current Ducati riders have often lapped slower than they did - on various machinery - last season.
It's obvious that Michelin has improved this season and that the expanded tire rule has helped their cause.
I've got to wonder how much the superiority of Michelin's qualifying tires have contributed to at least Stoner's ability to get himself into a position where he has some clear track in front of him. He, like Pedrosa, seem to do best when they can put their heads down and put some fast laps in.
That wouldn't explain why he qualified nearly a full second slower in 2008 at Estoril, let alone Melandri almost 2 full seconds off of his pace of last season.
It looks like tough times are here for Ducati and Bridgestone.
Stoner can overtake in all conditions, can out fox the the Snake Doctor, Out brake everyone on the grid, can wait patiantly for the right time, can presurise riders from behind, can also fight toe to toe hardcore, bloc pass, phsyc out, AND can gap the field when nessacary.
He is one of a very few that has it all, never has Casey been anything like Pedrobot....ever.
Casey rises under preasure, Pedrobot folds, Rossi crumbles.
He sure did rise under the pressure and overcome all the odds to win the last 2 GP's didn't he! He's not even the fastest Bridgestone rider so far. Back into your hole ARCE.

Yep, that makes sense, The history of the universe revolves around the only 2 races this planet has ever seen, Bang on, Nice work Chumly I see you've got it worked out.
it's a pity casey has lost 'it' very early of his young career, a world champ once..a midfield runner now...

No....its pretty accurate, You dont havr to like it but its all true. Stoner and Pedrobot are oppersites, Pedrobot can only lead, Pedrobot has passed 2 riders under brakes and 1 was mistake, he went wide. Rosssi crumbled 2 years in row. Casey has passed in all conditions using all methods of passing. Oh and is the only rider in the History Valentino Rossi to break him.
Yep its all happened, Its OK to get all mad and foam at the mouth, its allright, you cant change history so just accept it...its all good.
Your fanboyism is unreal - bottomline casey s won 1 world cahmpionship, and one in which michelin, honda and yamaha had tyhe worst equipment they ve had in years. on 4stroke machines with a ****load of electronics. If CS excelled at all the things u said, he d won 6 or 7.
"Nice work Chumly I see you've got it worked out." i m not sure if u re accusing me of posting under a non registered name, in case u are, may i say u ve hit yeat another historical maximum in cluelessness. i really cant figure out what do u think could hold me back from calling u an idiot under my own nick ... if i had the intention to do so. chill.
Stoner 1 title but how many more? even with 1 win hes still 7 poitns behind Rossi... lolol and he seems to like the kitty litter more this year..

Your right **** you can't change history and poor old Casey looks like he's already it. Melandri is getting more press. I had to laugh at Estoril when the camera panned to Stoner and he threw his arms in the air. Couldn't make out whether he was asking for help? or saying it's not me it's the bike, I'm riding exactly the same as I always have....It all happened...Talk about crumbling...just waiting for his near vertical dive in china, which will happen, Stoners 'A' bridges getting wooped by the 'B' grade tyres of Rossi and Hopkins...... too funny!! I reckon with no development skills he'll be in WSB at best year next, or perhaps motorcross.....

Ah ace, how u have been missed...like a third armpit, im sure some would agree.
Nice to see your still on the casey bandwagon even though he's had a couple of shoddy races and doesnt look anything like a champion...but chin up...he may break the top 5 in china! ;)
The reality is...in 2007, stoner came 5th at jerez, in 2008 he came 11th? at estoril, he came 3rd in 2007, now in 2008 he's come 6th?
It's in black and white, but the typical stoner fans wont be able to see it, the ducati has gone backwards and stoner cant do anything to bring it to the front, unlike a certain mr rossi did with his yamaha last season.
Wake up and smell the beans, ur boys not gonna be champion this year!
And trust typical stoner fans only comeback to be...rossi hasn't won a race this year.
well maybe not, but if the championship was only 3 races long, he'd have beat stoner wouldnt he, stoner's won a race, but whats he backed it up with?
Atleast rossi has seen the top 5 every round, and with no base data to work with at any track due to being on bridgestones for the first time, i think thats pretty impressive.
But of course, you wouldnt see it that way, you'll just pick the negatives to make you feel better about the last couple of races your boys had.
Well good luck, i hope he's back fighting at china, but i doubt he'll win, lorenzo, pedrosa and rossi have got him sorted this season.
