Stoner used his fourth pole position in a row to take an early lead, while second on the grid Rossi dropped to third behind John Hopkins. Just behind them, Kawasaki's Randy de Puniet collided with Dani Pedrosa at turn two - bringing them both down and forcing Pedrosa's Repsol Honda team-mate Nicky Hayden, who had made a poor start from the front row, into the gravel.
Another great ride and faultless ride by Stoner. It is funny that when Rossi was winning race after race no one seem to care or say it was boring now it is someone else who keeps winning(who isn't such a showman) most people seem to think that it is boring. These two are amazing riders and we should be enjoying what looks like a good battle between these two for years to come (If Rossi stays around)

The qualifying was better than the race 1 place changing right up to the last few seconds

Boring, boring, boring Great race for Stoner again, but where was everyone else? You could probably count the passes on one hand

well i think rossi fans should thank stoner for giving rossi a reason to stick around in motogp
Difference is Rossi used to put on a show for the crowd. By that I mean more often than not we was "toying" with 2nd place, at least giving the fans an exciting race. Noby moaned, not because Rossi was winning, but because he gave us edge of the seat racing

and i allways thought that riders race for best possible result, not for cheering the crowd with games like rossi?wtf?

Now we know, it's not the Michelin that sucks with the pace Rossi had all weekend. Instead, Honda and Yamaha was...
Rossi must have thinking about next year when he choose to run pnuematic valves. It cost Suzuki a season long and several engine blows to make it right. Plus the bike being kicked by Hopkins.

zydon, Aside from the crappy bike, look at the tyre. The best Michelin rider was 35 seconds behind stoner.

I guess you didn't notice that Pedrosa and Hayden got punted off in the first corner

every race over the past years had me off the sofa, six inches from the tv screen screaming and praying in equal measure for rossi to not make mistakes or to score points and sometimes win when faced with the task of starting dead last or making his way through the pack after a disasterous start.now i only have to watch the first lap,i watch the desmocedici and its infinately superior tyres take their pillion passenger out for a ride, then i can swith the tv over and watch some exciting sport like cricket or crown green bowling prehaps its time to switch my allegiance to WSBK but then again the future of wsbk is in doubt now that ducati has whinged itself a bigger advantage .

anyone who is talking about tyres in this race specifically either didnt atch the race or has no idea. the out come was decided by the 1st lap accident and rossi's failure. stoner rode as well as he has all season, those 2 incidents just deprived us of a proper race.
Tex, I watched the crash at the 1st lap. I am talking about the fact of the race. No ifs or buts. Even if Hayden or Pedrosa were there, they might still not make it for a podium.

again, i would advice you READ the changes of rules in WSBK. You'll see the rules are tough ones for twin cylinders engines.

DEAD BORING race !!!
Bring back the 990s!
Or I'm switching to WSBK ...
With this boring 800s single-file procession in the absence of Rossi's great entertaining skills, I have every reason to switch to F1!

YES THE RACING NOT THAT GOOD APART FROM CATALUNYA,BUT I REMEMBER MICK DOOHAN WINNING WEEK IN WEEK OUT SEASON AFTER SEASON ON THE 500, HE EVEN GOT ASKED IF HE MIGHT SLOW DOWN A BIT TO GIVE THE OTHER RIDERS A CHANCE, NOW THAT WAS ATIME WHEN IT WAS BORING TO WATCH DOOHAN MADE THE REST OF THE FIELD LOOK ORDINARY ??

You guys know sh*t about racing. Even if Rossi had'nt had an engine failure he wouldn't have finished on the podium. He looked too ragged compared to Stoner. Man the guy is finished and unless you can back it up then f**k off with your crap comments and get back to me when he's won a race and please don't bring up his past races as i prefer to live in the present. Stoner is kicking his *rs*. It's the start of a new era. Deal with it.

How has MOTOGP become so dull? What used to be terrific, scintillating battles out on track have just become a dull procession week after week now.
Stoner is undoubtedly a great talent, no other Ducati's get close, trouble is neither does anyone else.
Tyres? 800's? Whatever it is i don't want to go back to the dreadful Doohan years which were also boring and dull. Things only livened up when Rossi appeared.

That as the second time I got to see John Hopkins doing another superb finish wheelie. He holds that thing more upright and more stable than any other GP rider I've ever seen (Please don't try this again Max).
