Ducati seeks Shanghai salvation.

Ducati seeks Shanghai salvation.

With the notable exception of victory in Qatar, Ducati hasn't had much to smile about so far this season - and arrives at round four, in Shanghai this weekend, on the back of tough rounds for even its reigning world champion Casey Stoner.

if the GP8 doesn't cut it here, you can forget about the championship....

Vittoriano [Guareschi] has spent three days testing some new things at Mugello, in particular with the electronics.

really sad isnt it that stoner cant do so good without having full electronic support and a talented rider like melandri has to suffer and play second fiddle... and before you say blah blah blah stoner WC who cares the question must be asked would he be WC witout ducati's clear advantage last year and without having superior electronic assistance???

like suppo said " we clearly had an advantage last year and other manufacturers have responed well and caught up.

i support many riders but motogp isnt what it used to be what happend to rider talent making the difference?

I don't think things have really changed that much.
Back in the days when Doohan was dominant he was the best rider on the best bike. Other riders where close to him in terms of talent but hardly ever got a look in because their machinery wasn't as good as the Honda.

Same situation as now its the combination of rider and machine... talented rider on a not so good bike still won't cut it at the top level.

This is a real interesting race. Ducati-riders are all openly building on their blunt superior power. Straightline speed on the 2 long straights is what they say. It'll be about power AND the related fuel consumption, I guess.

Seen their poor performance, it could pan out either way. We'll see how the satelite guys and Melandri will do on the Duc: Nobody really knows. Estoril was also somewhat of a surprise. China might be too! Can't wait for qualifying. B'stone better be ready if they want to keep their W.C.

Let's Race: Vale Go!

Harryx, I prefer to see what the guys does in FP's instead of qualifying, If you see CS on top of the first three FP's than you better not bet against him..

Kees(sie) that's what I mean. You can't bet on anything right now.

You got me though: The Q-tyres split the Mich's from the B'stones. Agree that practise is that what shows best what'll happen or Qualifying before the Q-tyres get chucked in.

I dare predicting the first half of the race which will be Vale and Stoner pulling a slide gap over the rest.I do not dare the second half...

Hey Rover, git em back in that Ostrich pen with the sand pit, theres a few of these pesky little yellow kool aid pooping clown like sheep loose again!

If everything is right with the Ducati (front end feel) I thing Casey is going to win, Maybe not ride away from the pack but in the last 5 laps he will probably put on a soul crushing performance leaving The Lunatic behind for second place.

GO THE HOLY STONER

Ducati better hope they have more than just a (slight) speed advantage, cause it certainly hasn't looked like they have the advantage they had last year, although every chance that could prove wrong with the massively long staights of China! From memory - the Suzuki's had reasonably hard top end speed and could prove the uderdog in China?

Rossi was easily the best rider last year. I don't think anyone can deny that the Duke power advantage was so huge there was little he could do when they hit the straights. If all tyres work Rossi will win comfortably. If not will be a hell of a scrap...Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo all have good records there and don't forget Tech3...Come JT!! VR!!

ps BBC no qualifying or practice..poor show, do it properly or give to someone who can.

Wonder if the grid **** up from the last race will mean Stoner will take his grid spot early or will he ponder around at the back conserving as much fuel as possible making everyone wait like he has for the past 15 odd races. I wonder why the other riders have not picked up on this and complained.

Timbo, traditionaly the front row is always close to last on the grid to form up, its the smart thing to do and all the racers know it and do it. Start watching a few other classes and you'll see its pretty much the norm.

Hi Ace.

Yup that is true. I watch all forms of motorbike racing. It's just Casey is always last and by some margin. This caused confusion at the last meet. When watching with other mates we always comment on this. Not really against Stoner (I'm Australian), but this just seems odd that no racer has complained.

I guess the reason why they havent complained is that is not that big a deal and that its OK by them

I cant see the big deal myslef exept for having a dig at Casey

Various weather reports say 60-90% chance of rain in Sunday. Bring it down as it could deliver some strange results. Damp days are definately BS territory.
