The ability of Stoner, the sheer speed of the Desmosedici down the huge 1.2km back straight and the consistent grip from his Bridgestone tyres blew away the opposition - headed by seven times world champion Valentino Rossi - one year ago.
Can't wait to see the TOP 3, VR,DP and JL go head to head this weekend.....Tyres 'should' be more evenly matched but it's a serious breaking track and everybody knows who the king of that is......

GO CASEY STONER.
I've got a bad feeling for Rossi.....I feel the natural order of things will start to take balance at a wet Shanghia
This is a perfect article to start the Rossi and Stoner bashing again... so I think i will get my post in now then let the handbag swinging begin afterwards!
If its wet Stoner is going to be very very hard to beat. If its dry the duke was sooo fast in a straight line last year but Rossi could still outbrake him! this year Rossi can keep closer as the Yam is faster so overtaking shouldn't be as tough. BUT! Dani and Jorge! we didnt have these 2 involved last year. With the way stoner seems to be struggling at the moment he may have been able to wrestle a win away from one rider but from 3? my money is on Rossi 1st, Stoner 2nd and Dani or Jorge 3rd. JT to be running quite close in 5th...

Don't forget Hopper and his 5th podium from 100 starts! He's earning his money that boy.

I feel good about Rossi chances at Assen.
Thanks for inviting me to display my fairness as I do with every post, unfortunatly too many people hate so bad they will insult the world becuase its not what they signed up for and that the same winner every race every season......how dull
I was not thinking about Dovisioso but rather Nakano if it is damp.

If its a wet race we could see Rossi, Stoner, Vermeulen or even Melandri on the podium unless Michelin has upped their rain tire from last year. The worst scenario is a half wet and half dry track then anything could happen.

If it is fully wet Stoner has eccellent cards, his bike is fast, TC excellent and he knows his Bridgestone rain tyres. Rossi will be good too but he has to get used to the new wets so that is an uncertain factor. He nevertheless won the first Chinese GP in appalling conditions so that will be in his mind.

If it rains I know who wont be on the podium- Pedrosa and Lorenzo.
How does JT go in the wet?

Go Loris! Go Colin! Put those young snotty noses back in their place and show 'em the way home. Do it for all us old gitts who still get a buzz out of our bikes...

Morgue..If it is wet in China it usually buckets down and the drains seem to have problems coping with it meaning less chance of a drying track. Weather reports say a better than 50% chance of rain on Sunday. If so CS and VR should be at the pointy end along with CV,AW,SG and SN. I suspect NH would be the best M tyre runner but he usually bin's it in the process possibly leaving RDP as the best M tyre runner at the finish.
The hypothetical usually generates some conversation.

JT is pretty good in the wet but no rain meister. He has very little experience with the tyres or bike in wet conditions. I don't think he will shine this weekend if it rains.

Bridgestone has the superior wet tyre, or so it would appear from wet tests so far this season and i think stoner is more comfortable with the bridgestone wet on the duke than Rossi will be with the bridgestones on his M1... however Rossi has already showed how fast he can learn on new tyres this year so it would be close. I dont fancy michelin chances in the rain to be honest but there are some guys who may surprise this weekend if its wet...

Has someone looked at the weather forecast for the MotoGP weekend? Why all the talk about rain? Anyhow if it was to rain why discount Dani and Jorge? Dani has made impressive improvements to his rain riding. As for Jorge, he appears to be able to walk on water, riding in the rain should not be an obstacle to another victory. As for Rossi, it was his choice to move to Bridgestones to improve his chances for victory this year. No one on this forum should use that as an excuse for his poor performances.

Rossi hasn't had a poor performance yet! He is, after all, the leading Bridgestone rider. And the only one to consistently be near the top of the timesheets wet or dry.

Jacko, at the last race, I think in the warm up it was wet and Stoner was the quickest followed by VR .7 of sec and Pedrosa WAS 3.5 and Lorenzo over 4 seconds SLOWER!!
He might be able to walk on water but it looks like he cant race bikes on it !!
