The 20-year-old rookie sensation, currently holding the joint world championship lead after three podiums - including one win - from his first three MotoGP races, was propelled spectacularly into the air when his rear tyre lost traction as he switched from right to left, midway through the morning session.
Young Fellas!!!!!!!!!!!! It had to happen!!!!!!!! I hope he will survive this. This ye********* I bet it did hurt and will hurt for a few races.... Bring on the young fellas!!!!!!!!! Not that you will blow Rossi away!!!!!!!
I'm definitely no medical expert but doesn't 'severe trauma' usually mean some ligament/tendon damage which can often take much longer to get back to 100% that a break?

Yip, thats a biggie! I'll bet he'll race sunday and try and salvage some points. hope he has a fast and total recovery, we need him up there to spice the season up.

I think he'd be better just going home to recover now, don't even attempt to ride for a while. It's still early in the season and a missed race or two could prove less costly than a rushed recovery.

Typical Dutch tv: They broadcast the crash on prime time tv, not a word about the results
well its all over for Lorenzo. He won't recover from that soon and i believe it will affect him for at least the next few rounds. Wish him a speedy recovery. He should start looking at next yr for an all out assault because this yr is over baby. But still he is a good young rider. Also i forgot to tell you all that Casey will win.

Lorenzo was a pretty ***** fella. He was dissing Stoner, and he thought he had the championship in the bag. I hope he recovers soon, but never good to be too *****. All it takes is one mistake and your whole contention in the fight is over.

I cannot understand why short circuit racers are not wearing the tried and tested Leatt neck brace?

wondered how long it would take for people wishing well an injured racer (whether you like him or not), before the idiots turned up (I'm pretty sure the same person did 3 posts in a row there) finding it funny... Bit of a scary attitude, it was a nasty crash, even Rossi was a bit shocked by it... hope he gets back to 100% racing soon...

im curious...is domes another repulsive production of ace 27?
some of the crap this fella comes out with it beyond reality!
Rossi broke his wrist in 2006, people would have said his championship was over, but he stuck in there and took it to the last round...so how the hell can u say lorenzo's season is over, 4 races in, due to a chipped bone in his ankle...
we all know what fighters the riders are, im sure he'll be out there sunday, he may not finish well, but he could get some valuable points towards the championship...then who knows..
just let things play out for once, ffs...everyone think they are mystic meg on ere!
its not so much that people were wishing for it, its just that it was bound to happen.
Jorge has had a pretty smooth entry into motogp, and sooner or later with big, fast bikes, you are gonna crash. In the old days it happened hard and fast. But with the new bikes, being a lot smoother than the old ones you generally get away with a bit more, and the crashes are often lowsides. But obviously Jorge outsteped his knowledge of the bike/tyres and it decided to not play his game.
