Stoner: This makes up for last year.

Stoner: This makes up for last year.

If there is one part of Casey Stoner's incredible 2007 season which he regrets then it's not finishing on the podium during Ducati's home Italian Grand Prix.

I think Casey has had a bit of a reality check, he really seams to genuinely appriciate where he finished and hopefully he stays this way. I look forward to seeing some good racing throughout the rest of the season. IMO he is a very good rider (along with the whole field, but certainly amongst 6 or so exceptional riders) but it has to be said that there is is only one totally outstanding rider in the current crop....

Yep, i was pleased with Stoner's attitude at the end
of the race...i wasnt impressed that he tried
blaming a naff clutch on coming 2nd.

No one would have beat rossi yesterday he knows that
and so do we.

He never actually said nor insinuated in any way that he would have won if the clutch was working properly.

Now that the Rossettes are coming back out of their closets (unlike their hero) here's a bit of a reality check for you. Casey Stoner is still the most successful rider in the history of the 800cc class. At 800cc he his the only rider to win a world championship and has won more races than Rossi, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Capirossi put together. His cumilative points still greatly exceed those of any other rider. Whats more the history books will always show that he was the 1st rider to ever win at 800cc. These are hard statistical facts that cannot be disputed, so go ahead and disagree if you must, just remember you are only fooling yourselves - but isn't that what being a Rossette is all about?

Monty Cowan, you're a prat!

Casey Stoner has 11 800cc wins,
Rossi, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Capirossi have
12 wins put together if you want to play
the stats game.

Well done, Casey only looks good when you look back
1 year.

Monty: You must be one of the fools who wrote Rossi off after a couple of bad races. Seems like you have a hard time handling his recent winning streak.

Oh don't you worry Monty. The way Rossi is going at the mo, he will have more race on a 800 than your dear Casey soon. I'd love to see your face when it happens, and you can be sure it will

If you don't think Stoner insinuated that the clutch problems prevented him going for the win you weren't watching properly. He also said that when he ran wide he lost the tow from Rossi, however if you watched the race he was already a second down which is most definately not in the tow.....He has had a reality check this year, I'm pretty certain he believed, himself, that he'd turned into the worlds greatest racer...he is a very good racer but the heed needs rebooting...

this track is a very technical tack and him finishing in the podium is a great achievement!!!

Suzuki boy - clutch comment bbc interveiw parc ferme,--- 'in tow' episode in post race interview...delutional to say the least....I remember at lemans 2006 when Marco won it, in Parc ferme he said he would have no problem catching Rossi but he(Rossi) had mechanical issues, when he heard that Rossi was 4 seconds ahead in the post race he had the humility to say that perhaps he wouldn't have caught him......
Most of the top racers you hang on everyword for some insight but CS.....

Oh, give it a rest you pillocks.
Stoner congratulated Rossi after the race and no excuses were offered other than Rossi was better on the day.

It doesn't matter what Stoner says after a race, the Rossettes find a way to pick it to pieces. Doesn't matter that he clapped Valentino on the back and they both had big grins.

Some Rossette mathematics:

Valentino wins = Valentino's inherent brilliance
Valentino loses = Fault of bike/tyres

Casey wins = Unfair advantage (tyres/traction control/being Australian) or just lucky
Casey loses = He's a crap rider

Supplementary maths:
Casey talks about race = Casey is making excuses
Rossi talks about race = He is a gracious, wonderful guy and a real hero

With the Rossettes having declared it a level playing field this year on tyres/tech, let's see how they use their maths next time Casey wins.
