Honda have delayed a decision on whether or not to give their new pneumatic-valve machine its full debut at this weekend's Catalan Grand Prix until they have full analysed the data from its maiden outing in Italy.
hmmm. i don't think they will use the pneumatic engine for the race. it's not quite ready yet. It's a bit risky to use it in the middle of a title battle.....

I cant see why Honda would not give Hayden the new engine for the next race, he has nothing to lose.

Competition at high level for both teams and riders!...Honda wants to break Yamaha' s and Ducati's domination. I' m anxious to see the result?

just give Hayden the bike for the rest of the season and stop dilly dallying around...he is a hard worker and will atleast do his level best to get the problems sorted out..even if he doesn't they can atleast get a ton of data and figure out which direction to take in terms of improving it's performance....
has Honda lost it's direction or what?? they used to get it right in the first season..season 1 has come and gone and it will be the middle of season 2 pretty soon...

To be fair, Nicky Hayden would make a great guinea pig. Hes out of the title bid and has no issues riding hundreds of laps in testing! unless they like him to have the proven valve spring engine just to keep them in the hunt for the team title and maybe manufacturers title, which at this current stage has Yamaha written all over them!

Give it to De Angelis. He's been loyal to Honda and has talent.
After the result Sunday, would De Angelis want to take the new Honda?
Although, letting the satellite teams try it out, doesn't sound like a bad idea, and certainly hayden, as pedro is honda's only shout for the title this season.
Lets see what comes about Friday and over the weekend.
The point really is that it might be rather good idea to give it one of the satelite teams, Dovi, De Angelis whichever.
The other point is HRC are more likely to keep wheeling Taddy out than contemplate doing that.
Come to think of it tho, I'd rather enjoy seeing what he made of it if they gave Taddy the chance to get properly into the current Moto GP rhythm He's still looks to be a pretty good rider.
Hey Jimmy, why does almost every one of your posts finish up with a Rossi reference: regardless of what the story is about. This story has nothing to do with Rossi, and neither do so many of the other reports you post on. I think you should try and keep the Rossi references to the Rossi stories: where they are relevant and where they will be most appreciated!!

@ Emad..
Rossi will always be referenced in every subject that concerns MotoGP. Irregardless of where the subject starts out. The reason is simple: He is the lifeblood, heart and everything about MotoGP currently. If you don't want to believe that, then you can refer back to last week race at Mugello, when they were standing on the Podium and the thousands (sea) of people cheering for Rossi. Stoner and Pedrosa had to realize and feel very small that even though they have the credentials to ride and match Rossi's talent, they can never, never, never get that kind of glory worship that Rossi gets from fans and foe alike. So sorry if you cannot see that fact.

I think it's a conspiracy. After Okada crash in practice, he want to call it off becuase something is weird about the bike. But Honda want to save their face and continue to race the bike with someone who already put some mileage with the bike during winter test. So, they swapped with Hayden's bike.
So, Okada continue the race and the result doesn't show much at the advantages on the top speed because the setup it to push the top-end. The weirdness is finally show in Hayden's pace where he drop from 4th to the back of the grid and losing consistency along the way. That is why they can't decide to use it since they don't even know what is the problem. Seem pneumatic valve will delay again...

@ Dray, Any sport is bigger than any one entrant. People used to say the same for Schumacher. Now he's gone, F1 still carries on, it'll be the same with Rossi.
The post above says people dont want to see another boring race, nor does vale..
Anyone who watched motogp, knows that Rossi loves a good battle with the boys at the front, and even if he comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd, as long as he's been pushing the winner, he's usually content..
So before you jump on your high horse, and start moaning about me mentioning rossi, ask the person above my post why they felt the need to mention rossi not wanting another boring race, before you get on my case..
It's hard enough for me at the moment with people wanting to know everything there is about motogp...JEBUS!
You are correct, but sometimes there are some people that comes along and make that sport immensely more popular than the sport itself. Check out Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, Michael Jordan, Pele, etc.... These phenomenon cannot be denied. Oh by the way, my post does say Rossi is currently.

[i hope they will try the engine some other time...don't want to watch another boring race...and i'm sure vale don't want a race like in italy also Posted by cemkaan gur (5 hours ago)]
[ tbh, i think Rossi wants another title so bad he'd keep taking wins like that all season. But i think we'd all like to see more of a battle Posted by Jimmy Mansi (4 hours ago)]
for few seconds I wonder, why you moan about Jimmy's post, but soon I realized you're just a mere pathetic Rossi hater.
It makes no sense to me for Honda to give their new engine to a satellite team. This is not how things work. You have your top riders work the new engine. Clearly there is a problem with the engine because this topic shouldn't even be coming up and they should've been using the new engine since day 1 of the season. I'm sure heads are rolling in HRC because they've utterly failed to produce a good pneumatic engine.
IMO they should give it to Hayden for many of the reasons above but also because Hayden rides more comfortably with more spin at the rear wheel, I think it will suit him better. Again though, Pedrosa is their golden boy and they want to have the engine ready for him.

But it also makes no sense that honda's new engine is slower than the old one...at the moment.
why not chuck it on the satellite teams and use them as as level to see how the new engine is performing.
It's like their gonna chuck them in the satellite teams and repsol honda will be left at the back is it.
But your right Niva, it should have been in the bike and working from day 1, it's really gone wrong for Honda...
Who knows how long it's gonna take to fix it...even i dont
