Just five days after his thrilling home victory at Mugello, Valentino Rossi was back on track for Friday free practice at Catalunya - which he finished in third position, but just 0.073secs from pace setter and MotoGP World Championship rival Dani Pedrosa.
What impressed me is that he needs a different riding style to suit the Bridgestomes. Obviously it's not just finding the setting for the bike, it's creating a wholly different approach. Impressive how big a difference a different tyre can make.
Jack...It is not so much as changing his style to suit the BS but to suit the way Yamaha have changed the weight distribution to suit the BS. Basically Yamaha have set the bike up like the Ducati because the best BS where designed for this. So they pushed the front forks as far forward as possible to move the weight away from the centre and then moved the axle as far forward as possible, putting as much weight on the rear as possible, so he is getting less wheel spin and of cause prolonging tyre life......Rossi being the rider he is has at last adapted to these changes and as we can see the result is now wins, good on him !!!
Lets hope we see racing like last year......bring it on
What a Crap of Bu ll $ h i t. And since when did you become Rossi's adviser trying to tell us that Rossi is copying Casey Stoners Bike and Riding style. Racing last year. What racing are you talking about. It was a new classification The Yamaha engineers and Michelin were sleeping. Its Bridgestones now Not BRIDGESTONER.
Let me rephrase that" Lets hope we see racing like this year.......bring it on You keep saying stoner is good and the BS is good but where is he compared with Rossi. Points are "NOT" important now
Goooo Rossii oooooooo

No i have not seen the Catalunya Race. You have seen it. Oh I must have missed it. I thought the Race was on Sunday. Well I guess I will watch Horse racing Tomorrow. Give me a break. You're the same guy who said Rossi asked for Casey Stoner's Bridegstone tyres now you tell us the Bike is set up like the Duck. Forks in front and axle moved forward. Next you will say Rossi should ride like a Kangaroo. Yeah so you are a Motogp Technical expert so what. I am not. Take your Technical dribble elswhere. oh please. Where were your comments in the last 3 races when Rossi was winning. you were a loud mouth in Qatar and so were your bunch.we will see who wins tomorrow. Oh I forgot you already seen race
lol......Saran why do you bother......my first post said hope we see racing like last year, refering to last years race......but as we all know your short term memory is very limited !!!

yamaha have changed the position of the engine slightly which helps with balancing the weight out

Wow. Seems everybody here works for either Yamaha or Bridgestone. Or both...

Calm down Saran, you'll blow a gasket. I thought that it was common knowledge that the Yamaha Techys had followed Ducati thinking in putting more weight on the rear. Even the Tech 3 boys admit that it has helped them. I am not sure you can call it copying either. You have to do what is best and if somebody else has already done it, then so be it. I don't think it was Rossi either, it was the technical guys.
