Loris Capirossi will miss the two-day post Catalan Grand Prix test, and faces a race against time to regain fitness for the forthcoming British Grand Prix, after injuring his hand following a collision with rookie Alex de Angelis on lap 11 of Sunday's race.
"De Angelis tried a bit too hard and put me out of the race. But this is racing and sometimes things like this happen."
Harada couldn't agree more, I suppose...
I know I shouldn't compare, but it was the first thing that sprung to mind. Curious to what the footage will show.
Hope he's ok though. Capirossi is a true MotoGP veteran, and looked like he found something until he crashed. Hope his pinky finger will be allright before Donington.

According to MCN Capirossi is definitely out for Donington and possibly Assen too. Nobi Aoki has been (IMO 'has been' or 'never was' just about sums up Aoki!) drafted in to replace him. I'm sure the only thing Aoki will contribute towards is the repair bill. Why not drag Schwantz out of retirement - I'm sure he would do a lot better and at least give them some valuable feedback.

Looks like 'what comes around, goes around'...even 10 years later!!
I do like Capirex, and I do wish him a speedy recovery.
Jeez, with those funky gloves w/the massive padding on the back, how could he possibly injure any part of either hand??
Early opportunity to try Ben Spies, and if it don't clash with world supers why not Max Neukirchner, then theirs Watanabe - he might not be doing so well in BSB but i bet his tried the MGP bike before now

Unfortunately Capirossi will miss Brit Gp & poss Dutch TT, but they will use Aoki as stand-in cos he is tester. Shame that really,i think Tom Sykes could of had a good go a Donington!! By the way where are all the Wild Card rides this year?

Nice one binza. I would have like to see Tom Sykes given a go just for the experience but oh no! Suzuki have to wheel Nobi "by name Nobi by nature" Aoki out - what's that all about, don't they ever learn? Even drafting in Gibernau for a one off would have been at least given a different perspective on how to improve the bike.

Aoki is Suzuki's test ride. in his contract it probably says that if there is a free seat he is the first option. that's all, maybe he is not the best rider but a contract is a contract. the Japanese factory will always love a jap on the bike.
Rumour has it reigning American superbike champion Ben Spies will make his long-anticipated MotoGP debut in the British GP at Donington Park on June 22.

I think you must be misinformed Mrs Spies, it is my grandson Giacomo who will be riding the Suzuki to victory at Donington.
