Dani Pedrosa put an end to Valentino Rossi's three-race win streak, and reduced the Italian's MotoGP World Championship lead to just seven points, with a crushing home victory at Catalunya on Sunday.
Thats all Pedrosa can do is dream. The story of this race was Rossi's master class.

This was another inch perfect display from Pedrosabot.
He rode great from start to finish. I still have my money on Vale for the title though.

Amazing race by Dani. His pace was blistering. Shame he only pulls it off by running away. I'd prefer the fighting, but he knows that isn't his stongest point (we all know that by now). If he ends up fighting, he almost certainly will not win. Did he ever had a fighting win? So if he can, he'll pick the runaway strategy. Can't blame him for that...

Maarten, take a look at the video from 2005 when he took his second 250 title I think it was in Australia, when Stoner had a DNF and HOW he just overtook Seb. Porto... and you'll change your mind.
Unfortunatelly it seems that making the right settings and tire selections is much more important these days... and really makes a big difference. That is bad for the show.

I think Pedrosa is a lot like Biaggi, just with less whinging.
If the bike is good, and he is not messed with mid-corner, he can just bugger off into the distance.
If the bike is slightly off, or the tyres go off, his style doesnt suit.
I hope that he is not like Biaggi in that regards (hot one weekend, cold the next) because it will not bode well for fight against the likes of Rossi.
On to Donnington! and a track JT knows well.

Anyway well deserved victory for Pedrobot. But although I'm not a real Stoner's fan, I think his defence against Rossi was heroic. That Ducati is a wild bronco sliding, chattering, bumping...The guy has balls for sure. That was good racing.
Did anybody follow the fight Toseland-Vermeulen ?Both ex Ten Kate riders, same size...

Boss - you fool.
Pedrosa will never win a title: 1. He cannot fight his way through a group 2. He can only win when he gets away first. 3. He can't ride 10/10 in the rain. 4. No star quality whatsoever. None.
I make the claim now, Perdrosa will never do it in motogp. Period.

B. Andy 250's are a different ballgame. I just state what I see, which is that since he is in MotoGP he has trouble overtaking / fighting for positions. It might have something to do with is stature (not getting enough weight on the front for heavy braking) or his abilities. He's learning though, he actually outbraked Rossi at Mugello.
Marc. Never do what in MotoGP? Winning the championship? Never rule him out. He hasn't finished lower than 4th this season, winning twice. Hayden won in '06 by mere consistancy, helped by the fact that his rivels were injured (Capirossi and others at Catalunya and Rossi at Assen). You might not like Pedrosa, but you just cannot say he hasn't star quality. BS.

Well MARC you obviously dont like Dani very much but look at his record. 2005-250cc champ against the likes of stoner & lorenzo 2006-motogp rookie of the year with 2 fantastic victories 2007-runner up to stoner whilst beating rossi on a shoddy honda 2008-in contention to be the champ. what more do i need to say i admit he can't dog fight like rossi does but then again who can? also look at where the next honda was I really beleive that Dani can challenge for the title all the way and that he has the talent and class to do so.

The WC will be between Rossi and Pedrosa. I dont think Lorenzo or Stoner can win it. Lornzo will win a race but not the WC.

Dani does have have an impreesive record SwanBoy, but he just needs some professional help on his Charm and outward appeal.
Um, Big Lez. Actually, Dani was smiling ALL the time yesterday. Did you miss the shots of parc fermé and the podium?? He is actually loosening up. But yeah, he is kind of shy and hasn't got a personality like Rossi or Lorenzo. Having said that. Lorenzo is the guy who's actually getting professional help for his attitude...
And no. I'm not a Pedrosa fan. But people tend to talk a lot of s/hit about him. First people moaned that he didn't win races. And now he does, people start moaning again that he isn't smiling enough. C'mon, this is World Championship motorcycle racing. Not a personality contest.

I agree with Maarten, this is not a personality contest but a world championship and every rider is figthing with the best tools he has in hands, if Pedrosa can't really figth with Rossi this is maybe due to his size, look at the difference on the podium, Rossi can do things with his body that Pedrosa can't do, can Pedrosa load the front or the rear of his bike like Rossi can, no, so to be as fast as Rossi he has to ride a different way, the way he won the race show his speed probably the same level as Rossi but not the same way to do it.

SwanBoy, what were you watching in 2007 ? It was the Yamaha / Michelins that were shoddy in 2007 not the Honda, he only beat Rossi to second coz the Yamaha was dog slow and/or the tyres gave out !! The Honda was doing pretty good in 2007 if i remember rightly.
Once again you can't learn much from warm up times. Dani 13th for instance!!. His win was amazing and I am sure there will be many more wins in the future. This guy almost beat Nicky in his rooky year, when critics said he wasn't big enough or strong enough to do well in bigger class. He has definitely grown in stature in my eyes. Not really a fan, just saying what I think.
Do you Rossi fans actually think he comes up with all this PR stuff? He has a gang of people then they present their ideas and he goes through picking the best. Get in the real world guys.
Yes Rossi rode well, but it was his fault he was down the grid. I agree with zostje - Stoner rode the wheels of that Ducati
Also - did you guys hear why Rossi is quick on the Yamaha - because Jerry Burgess has copied Ducati - Not Valentino making it work. I think they called it a Yama-cati or a Duc-aha.
It's a real shame that they don't have a race on the same bikes so that we can see just who is the fastest. Who would pay to see them in a 80's style Pro-Am race?

Hey SwanBoy,
He has a decent record on paper, maybe, but the hard facts are as I said previously. He doesn't have the killer instinct unlike Rossi and Stoner) to do it. Had it all his own way on a great bike in 250s.
And Patrice - maybe he can't muscle the bike round like Rossi but Jesus, he'd about a metre tall and weighs about the same as a bag of sweets, thats like having another 250cc out of every corner and on the start - exactly what happened on Sunday! If they were all on identical M1's I know who would win....Rossi & Stoner mostly, Pedrosa wouldn't get a look in.
