Hayden wants to race pneumatic.

Hayden wants to race pneumatic.

Nicky Hayden overcame rain showers during the second and final day of the Catalunya test to put the latest version of Honda's troubled pneumatic-valve engine through a race simulation.

 17 people agree.

Here's hoping that Honda will allow Nicky to do so.

Won't make any difference he still does not have the ability to develop it and will be overtaken and still won't fight back

Yes and you'll still be sitting on your couch, watching the races on your TV, thinking you know it all and what the future holds. Called being full of BS.

Why does HRC keep sandbagging on this engine? Nicky's faster with it and he likes the feel more, what more reason do they need?

Yet another example of how Nicky gets the short end of the stick

@Aegis 96 - Valencia 06 . When it mattered Hyden muscled past Rossi at the very start with a pretty hard but fair move and was visibly riding that bike for all it was worth.

Sure he has had a crap couple of years, but it's mostly circumstances. His riding style doesn't suit TC. The Honda is very small and more suited to Pedrosa than Hayden, which isn't surprising when you remember that Repsol are a long time sponsor of HRC and a Spanish company.

I don't think he is the fastest rider out there, but he definitely deserves a place on the grid. While there was a certain amount of luck to his championship win (as there ALWAYS is) there was no one else in it apart from Rossi and Hayden.

And what will you be doing Sony Robot Dog, exactly the same as Aegis, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Aegis is right, Hayden does not deserve anymore chances, his being out ridden by novices on satellite mchines, they should give it to Dovi. You don't see Andrea going backwards after someone passes him

Proof again hrc is screwing over Nicky! They simply dont want him on a competitive bike. The whole repsol/hrc spanish rider crap is holding him back. When Assen comes up there will be another hrc excuse, and another at Sachsenring. Mark my words folks, they will not give Nicky that motor until Laguna Seca! Their bull**** move to sell and advertise their bikes to the US market. If I was Nicky and they pull that stunt. I would have a nice surprise for them come race day........

Prolific, did you check your bottom???? "Talk about the pot calling the kettle black."

Think before you run your mouth! It's not your decision to decide who goes where and ride what. But yours to watch or not watch the race. Or come on the internet and write nonsense.

What a radical reply Sony Dog Boy, so you don't like the truth so it becomes BS, perhaps you ought to take a leaf out of your own book and start watching the racing on the TV. Open your eyes when did you last see Hayden fight back after being passed. Then there's the development or rather the lack of it, he has the whole winter to develop the new bike and cant get it to work. Dani comes back from injury, makes a few changes and straight away his up the front.

Footari a couple of crap years, make that five and one fortunate one when he benefited from Rossi's misfortune, only one example you can come with when he actually pushed the bike and himself, that says a lot.

Then theres only 3 wins in six seasons including the one that Edwards gifted him. 3 wins in six years pretty pathetic for a rider on the team that's known as the best in the paddock, oh and a No of wins surpassed by his team mate in less than half that time. Please don't keep trotting out the Spanish link, it don't wash. Sorry boys the mans not good enough

No I just couldn't be ****d thinking of more. Sure Rossi had some bad luck that year, but he and he alone dropped the bike in Valencia. But Hayden was long gone by that point anyway.

How many wins did Edwards take on the works Yamaha, none? Better get rid of him. Stoner has made Melandri look rather stupid this year, get rid of him as well then.

Like I said sure he isn't the best rider on the grid, but he's far from the worst. Thing are just working against him at HRC. I fully believe if he changed teams he would do an Edwards and start performing pretty well.

You don't need a crystal ball to see Dovizioso in Nicky's seat next year. He just can't ride the 800cc bike and he was never a threat except at Leguna on the 990. I can see HRC making him look even worse so they can ditch him in '09 without much flak.

. If Nicky had the same bike as his team mate, Nicky was fighting for his second title, I don't think he has the same bike as Pedrosa. Nicky had a good bike when he was breaking records at Sepang and Jerez,(pre season tests)Then Pedrosa cameback and suddenly everything changed for Nicky. He started the Gp of Qatar with the 2007 bike. While his team mate rode the new bike(2008)
why Nicky rode the 2007 bike? and Why Pedrosa rode the 2008 bike? so weird!
Nicky is not a super driver but yes! he is a good rider, and he proves it once again,he did a great race simulation with the new engine. what it means that he had problems with the old engine.

Ryder stated that Dani had a new chassis at this weekend. One thta he liked so much that he got a 2nd one for his backup bike. Was it offered to NH? No

During the pre-race press conference, NH was asked why they aren't using the pneumatic valve engine. NH said, "Ask Dani"

Both hrc rider had one each of the 08 at the start of the season! Pedro had wrecked his during practice, so he was handed Nicky's 08. That leaving Nicky a pick of two 07 nails to ride.

FooAtari~ there are not many smart people on here as you can see. I guess Nicky is the blame guy for the internet jocky's of the world.

Hayden fanboys need to wake up and realize their boy is a joke. He got lucky one year when Rossi and company were injured and Rossi screwed up at the last race that year. Hayden has to be the luckiest rider in the paddock to have been given 5 years on a factory team and only produced 3 wins (two on home track and one gifted by Edwards). Edwards got demoted after not producing results. Hayden's best bet is to go back to Superbikes as he suits that style of riding. On a satellite team he'll be a consistent back marker.
