Donington dismisses 'fuel drop' rumours.

Donington dismisses 'fuel drop' rumours.

The owners of Donington Park have rejected claims that the surface of the race circuit is contaminated by fuel dropped by aircraft using the nearby East Midlands Airport, also confirming that they have carried out considerable works to improve levels of grip.

I rode around Donnington a week ago and had no problems with dry or wet grip!

It's just people making excuses before the race even happens just in case.....

Everyones got to ride around the same track so stop making excuses!

 1 people agree.

And only people who don't know jack about aviation could even *think* of fuel jettisoning near an airport / over populated areas ...

Either way, even jettisoned JET A-1 fuel doesn't even reach the ground: it gets volatilized *before*. Gee .

All wrong - the root cause is actually all the **** from the inadequate and constantly overflowing toilet blocks!

Dave, you're spot on about the toilets! The last time I went to Donington it was a joke. You paid alot of money for a campsite that had 20 of those plastic toilet sheds for 00000's of people and they were horrific. Some poor bloke got "tipped over" whilst in one and it was tipped onto the door side. You could here the screams a mile away as a wave of chemical brown poured all over him. I did even help security tip it back up for my good deed of the day. The guy was in a mess and the wife was crying that I brought her to war torn Bosnia. I will never return as no-one seemed to care about the punter as long as you paid thats all that counted.

I remember from a few years back, one of the riders who had mentioned the possiblity of aviation fuel on the track was Troy Corser,in his WSB days before switching to moto gp in 96.Whether he was serious or not was debatable but it shows the persistance of the myth

The last time i went to this circuit was when Foggy was still riding. I decided the place was a rip off then & have never been back. By recent reports it has'nt changed one bit but i suppose if the public keep putting up with it they will always be treated like second class citizens.
