Stoner chasing two wins in six days.

Casey Stoner is hoping his victory at Donington Park will kick-start a belated charge towards the MotoGP title as the championship heads to Assen and the Dutch Grand Prix.

I hope to see great racing this week end. Last year we had a great battle between Rossi and Stoner, I hope we have the same this year, battle to the finish for victory, and that the better wins! For my part, I would off course prefer Stoner.

Don't fall off this time Colin!

I have a feeling if the M1 can get sorted early on those bridgestones, Rossi can have an Epic with Casey Stoner.

I have another feeling Nicky Hayden is going to get overtaken by Dovi & De Angelis.

Careful with that bruised hand Mr Toseland - tortoise & the hare.

If its anything like last year then it will be a good race! Supporting Rossi all the way but after the last couple of races i just want to see a fight for the top spot it! seems to be 3 guys taking turns in the lead with the rest fighting for 2nd. I say fighting, Dani normally gives up 5 laps from the end... too cautious or very smart?! either way, lets see a fight for the win hopefully with Rossi coming out on top!

Nicky usually performs above normal here.Colin will probably be close to the front as well.Rossi no doubt, and Stoner more likely than not.Pedrosa could be a bit back at this circuit? We shall see as Saturday passes!G-out.

yeah, sure, just shows Rossi can be such a bad qualifier sometimes that it has to start waaaaaaay behind. he's lucky he always had a factory team or the best engineers to save his a** on sunday afternoon.

TOM dont talk **** i dont see engineers riding the bike around the track do you??
rossi's has to test the bike then give them the symptoms so they can work on the problem, they dont just guess it, engineers without a rider would be no good and
a rider without engineers wouldnt be any good either.

its a dam team effort............

Jimmy - the way the Stoner haters such as yourself on this blog are, if Casey did start 11th and won, it'd be all due to the superior power / speed/ TC / tyres / weather. Rossi is a magnificent rider, Stoner is capable of battling it out with him - as is Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Put all 4 on bog equal bikes and the racing would be fantastic but not every bike / tyre combination is equal on every day because in MotoGP every tiny factor counts. Why do so many people have to spend so much time slagging one or another rider off rather than appreciating the racing? Do these people have any valid form of life?

Stoner beat Rossi fair and square so stop trying to find excuses. The new ex 250 guys are where its at.The only thing Rossi has over them is experience and the best bike on the grid. They can overcome this with shear hunger, determination and skill.
As we have seen.Game Over. Please insert another coin.

Only Stoner uses traction control!

Nicky Haden quote
"but if a sensor goes bad you realise just how much you use traction control, engine braking control and things like that."

It is the way you have to go to make these things actually ridable if it was banned it would be highside heaven way worse than the 500's

I was very impressed with the inroads made by Ducati & Stoner. The results in previous rounds showed the bike was not at the same level as the Yamaha and Honda.

Ducati have turned a corner and I think it is going to make for an even more competitive finish to the season.

Will the result continue for Stoner and Ducati? Who really knows, but I will be watching with interest on how the bike goes at Assen. If the results are there, Stoner will need Rossi and Pedrosa to make some mistakes, for him to be in the title hunt.

I hope we do see the result and it will show that last years championship was no fluke and we was a worthy world champion.

Winning 10 races in a season..a fluke?..what utter dribble.Anyone with half a brain can see this guy is a worthy World Champion.Seriously how much longer can you be in denial?

Toejam,

Glad to see you misread my post. Stoner was a worthy champion last year in my opinion and my comments were aimed towards those who doubted his efforts, and called it lucky. Some very good results in the 2nd half of the season and more round wins will do more to shows it was Stoner as well as the bike, than TC, electronics and all the other rubbish we have heard over the past 12 months.

Melandri's poor showing this year, also shows the fact it is not just the Ducati.

AT LAST! An outbreak of sensible, fair minded, even-handed commentary! Can we all keep this up and get the level of exchanges beyond cats fighting in bags so we can share information and sane comments about MotoGP - starting with less inflammatory headlines and carefully-selected part-information bites from Crash.net? Or should I just hang on to that dream and go to other blogs ( just about ANY of them) where there is life, Jim, rather more as we know it?
