Assen: Free practice times (3).

Assen - Free practice times (3).

Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi injured his right arm on Thursday afternoon and has withdrawn from the event. He will not be replaced.

Was watching on the moto gp site. It was the dying seconds that Casey pulled out a decent lap. I seriously thought Marco was going to be quicker than him. How funny would that have been.

Marco was going to be quicker than him? But Sylvain Guintoli was going to be faster than all of them!

What happened there with that live timing? It showed Casey was the fastest in the first 5 laps then he was not updated for 40 mins and stuck on lap 5 until the last min of the session where it then showed 10 laps completed. Almost looked like he crashed because Rossi did 26 laps

Stoner spent nearly 40 minutes in the pits. did the fast lap on lap 5 and was on top of the charts, then wasn't seen again till the last few minutes. Did he bin it somewhere does anyone know?? Elais only did 3 laps as well.

If he didn't crash there are going to be serious questions over his behaviour, sitting in last place and then going out for one lap to blitz everyone. We all know Casey likes to dominate but that is boadering on taking the p-i-s-s and it's small consolation that it didn't work. I bet there is many a rider who wants to fall on him from a great height...

Vale 2.5 secs off the pace, that's a lot to find but my boy is the best pound for pound racer out there and will be on the podium.....

Go Rossifumi!!!!

observer calm down he didnt blitz anyone he was 2 seconds off dani. apparently the track was wet at the beginning of the session then dried out toward the end. maybe he just decided not to risk riding mixed conditions, he knows he is fast in full wet an full dry. nothing to do with behavior. its strategy maybe his team didnt want him to go out for some other reason.

It's supposed to be dry this afternoon and tomorrow. Why risk binning it this morning.
It's not as if he hasn't won in the rain before. How is that taking the piss?

Given the first two practices, the odds were that it would have been a runaway win for Stoner. At least this weather will mix it up a bit. Looking forward to qualifying.

Why risk a injury this morning. It's not as if he can't ride in the wet and has never won in the wet. How is he taking the £$%^ ?

Get a grip will you. In half wet/dry conditions riders will often not bother, especially if they have their wet setup well sorted. Alternatively, there could very well have been mechanical problems.

It's just getting so lame how you losers try to construe any situation to make casey the bad guy. Absolutely pathetic.

The only people that want him to 'fall from a great height' are you genius armchair critics, who somehow seem to know-all without any facts whatsoever. The riders have the utmost respect for his ability and couldnt give a rats ass how long he sits in his garage.

Get a f%$^&g life.

I am relaxed, I don't work fridays....either way thinking he doesn't need to practice in the wet because he has the measure of everyone is arrogance that is rarely seen in major competition especially when you not even winning the championship. The last time I saw casey in mixed conditions he got battered(capirossi won I think) and only beat rossi because his change of tyres didn't work...his championship winning race for those who don't remember. You'd have thought he'd get as many laps as poss in, in those conditions... For all the knobs there is no mention of his riding or electronics..

Mille R - your comment makes alot of sense

some ppl can't help them selves but to criticize everything the kid does. they hate him if he wins, then cuss him if he crashes and bag his behavior for staying in the pits. some ppl here give me the ****s, they be satisfied until something terrible happens to him like death from a huge accident.

give the kid a break

Stoner fastest on Bridgestones - worth considering tyre situation. But I don't believe either he or Rossi were taking it too seriously, it's FP3 not qualifying.

nearly all the riders spent a big patch of time in the pits in the middle of the session. The conditions must have been atrocious for that to happen. Apologies to Elias - I said earlier he only did 3 laps - in fact he did 11.

These drying track conditions are a real lottery and most times it is best to do a few laps then pit, select a tyre you think will work, wait, then go out at the very last minute and see what comes of it. The results here mean little as one more lap could mean a two second gain or on the other side it could mean tyres could start to go off if they are really soft. Lets hope it is either wet or dry for the rest of the meeting and nothing in between.
If a comparison needs to be made in this case it could only be how the Mich/BS runners compared on the same make of tyre.

'they be satisfied until something terrible happens to him like death from a huge accident'--- It is absolutely disgraceful, to wish or insinuate that others wish serious harm or death to a rider. It is without doubt the lowest comment I've heard on here, you need to get your head around the phrase banter and take you medication...
