Stoner delighted with Assen pole.

Stoner delighted with Assen pole.

Casey Stoner took a third pole position in a row, at Assen on Friday, having overcome a series of 'obstacles' and a determined attack from Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa.

:rolleyesoor melandri. I think melandri have a mental problem, he need to take a break from motogp for a while.

it's d same also in citroen wrc. Loeb has been dominating with teammates struggling.

Melandri can do well on a honda. Max Biaggi can be fast with ducati bcoz of his smooth driving

If there's one mindless muppet in here, it's YOU! Why insulting us, Rossi-fans even when there was nothing said to casey's performance ore something else. Casey did a great Job and so did Dani, Rossi and all the rest.
Get a decent live Robby, mindless muppet!

Casey is past the limit did anyone see his tankslapper in free practice he is over riding the bike its only a matter of time until the electronics mess up and he will have a very big off. OUCH

it seems we'll see a red blurry bike flying on saturday...
what a impressive formula (stoner + ducati + eletronics)!

im a big rossi fan, but stoner is a awesome driver. malandri has the same machinary but it simply doestn work for him. he is the wrong component in the formula. stoner has a lot of merits, and rossi too.

good race for us all!

Look I wake up from siesta to find my boy hitting a pinyata in the paddock. He has been acting very strange today. Why do Honda give that big nose American boy a fast bike and not my boo boo ba ba? DP Mom x

I don't know if the electronics will ever mess up and cause a big "off" with Stoner...with the speed that that machine has I would hope for his sake they don't!

The chief Ducati engineer was interviewed briefly during qualifying. He was asked if the other Ducati riders (non-factory) have access to the modifications from Donnington. he said VERY CLEARLY that all the riders have access to the same "traction control" system. It is, in fact, an upgraded traction control system that is allowing Stoner to lap close to a second faster than Rossi. Whether you are a Rossi fan or a Stoner fan, you need to be concerned with this development. The electronics are becoming too invasive.

Like your chassis, your engine and your aerodinamics, eletronics are also a development part. You used to design things using paper, today, you use a software, and so on. Racing is the same thing.

I'd rather see the boys riding a bike without the TC. The Ducati advantage is not unfair, it's fruit of hard ******* work...

Surely it's more complicated than just the TC - if the ECU mapping is too harsh, then the TC fights it and the bike is running as if someone is playing with a light switch, which I suggest is why the Ducs have been bucking so hard through the corners. Duc appear to have smoothed the ECU which takes away some of the electronic fighting and allows more actual effective drive. Obviously different bikes are tuned differently - Honda has its launch control down pat (remember what happened to Pedrosa last year when it hiccupped?). On a circuit like Assen, straight line speed is very dependent on previous corner exit speed. Duc have got their electronics better balanced now.

Get bored with all the postings on TC - it's legal, useful and here to stay ( until any further regulation changes)

Those who can exploit the benefits will be ahead of the game - That's the way things are for now !!!

CS / Ducati - Keep going - it's paying dividends

All Others / Catch up ( you have the technology )

I do have sympathies for those who lament the use of TC whatsoever - but your postings on this board will be unlikely to change anything - Live with it - it's progress ???????????

saying nothing about tc will never change it.. theres power in numbers if we all voice our opinions they will have 2 listen..dont forget its our sport without us they will all have 2 get real jobs...where the reason for the sport and if we dont watch they dont get rich and they cant stand that... the worlds in a mess because of people that say LIVE WITH IT -ITS PROGRESS..............

Still all this talk about TC and what it has done, for gods sake it is the premier class of motorcycle racing, where bikes are devloped, and gets passed onto WSBK and road bikes.

All bikes in MotoGP use TC. I suggest if you don't like TC and advancement on MotoGP, then maybe follow historics or WSBK.

Oh thats right the WSBK bikes run TC as well. What are you going to do?

Kiddies maybe go BMX racing, until you are old enough to get on a real bike.

WHAT R U GUNNA DO MARK S WHEN BIKE RACING GETS AS BORING AS F1 BECAUSE ANY ONE CAN RIDE THEM BECAUSE OF TEC AND THEY FLY AROUND THE TRACK LIKE AN ARCADE GAME NOT SLIDING NOT MOVING JUST LIKE A TRAIN ON TRACKS..AND THE RIDER GETS UP ON THE PODIUM AND SAYS THANKS MICROSOFT THAT WAS EASY ..THE FUTURE LOOKS VERY STERILE

The great uninformed masses have decreed yet again that Casey wins because of his computer. The problem with this idiotic theory is "therefore"
Casey wins or goes fast because of his computer.
Therefore it is the bike not the rider.
The inference - because the bike is so fast, anyone with a modicum of skills will be able to ride it fast and win.
THEREFORE any rider should win on it. Great theory until you look at Guintoli, Melandri and Elias.
Everyone has TC – I would say given average results that Yamaha and Honda have much better TC than Ducati. This is so worn out you need to find a new bogeyman to blame like the Illuminati, Masons or the Catholics.
