Edwards, Hayden talk 'karma corner'.

Edwards, Hayden talk 'karma corner'.

A twist of fate at Assen on Saturday saw Nicky Hayden hand a shock podium finish to Colin Edwards on the exit of the very final corner - exactly where Edwards had handed Hayden victory when he fell at the end of the 2006 event!

It was a fantastic ride by Colin.
On the BBC coverage after the race, Herve Poncharal made a comment confirming that they will have Colin riding for them next year.
It would be doubly bitter for Nicky if he ends up without a ride next year and Colin stays on on the strength of this Assen podium.
I hope they'll both still be here with Nicky riding a Ducati.

motoGP boring? not when a satellite team goes from last to third! My Dani is leading the point and Hayden has worked out another bug for him. Hopefully we will have healthy riders back soon. Jorge looked smooth, but his time is this year to challenge my lovely Dani. Mrs. P.

oh, and Danis Mom is a sincere, but poor imitation.

couldn't help laughing my ass off at this..

after how hayden celebrated winning in 2006 when he knows he was more than lucky..

this happening, it certainly brought a smile to my face
after the rossi incident.

As the bike was built for pedro, did they only fill it up to what pedro
would require? surely he wouldn't use as much fuel, being a smoother rider
and a lot lighter..

Unlucky day for Nicky, its pretty obvious this configuration suits hin better. If HRC can get their crap together, Nicky should string together some nice rides for the rest of the season. Good ride by Colin!

Despite he didn't win a podium, today Nicky
made me so proud. Nicky is a great rider, I'm glad he stays
positive after all this tough season. He has improved a lot
with the new engine, he is starting beating Pedrosa and other strong
rivals in the trainings(F1, warm up etc)and also he was pretty close to win a podium again. Those signals mean
that Nicky is adapting and improving a lot. Thank God he could
finished the race and got a good result.
Congratulations Nicky! Trust in God please, keep the hopes,
be patient, stay strong and don't Give up.
Cheer up!
always by your side..
your biggest fan forever!

I have to say that I completely agree with Jimmy Mansi...I'm a fan of Rossi and i was so frustrated with his fall but this incident with Hayden made my day!I think that Hayden has taken advantage of others' mistakes and celebrated wins that he couldn't have if someone else hadn't fallen or faced mechanical problems with his bike. And this thing came back at him today. And the fact that he has won the championship still seems strange to me.I think he didn't deserve it.

Amazing race by Edwards, silencing his critics. From last to 3rd, thats a Rossi like performance. Desperately unlucky for Hayden. They really owe it to him to sort that new bike out quickly. This is his second race in a row where warning lights are showing failures on his machine

ce lost the 06 race when he got passed, he cut across a large section of track. if ce won they would take it away. and enough with the hayden didn't deserve the title crap, you muppets know nothing about deserving. show some respect.

I retract what I said about colin cutting a big section, it wasn't that big, I watched it again. hayden hit a false neutral leading on the outside, I wish both would have entered the corner together then drag race win for colin, that would have looked so much better for both.

Nicky was lucky in 06? Do you Pedrosa/Rossi fanboys remember when pedrosa, Nickys OWN teammate punted/rammed him off the track the race before the final of the season?!? Was that good luck?

Comments from CE say it all for me, along with his comment about 'not wanting to get in the way of genuine contenders' (he said this only a few races into the season I think!). Few would doubt he has the ability, even as one of the older blokes in the paddock, but this shows lack of drive to consistently push towards the front. To be fair, it would be a waste not to give the Tech3 ride to someone who might show a lttle more ambition. Bit of a shame really cause it's always good to see the Ex WSB riders up there. Regarding Hayden, to suggest his win was a fluke in what was one of the more interesting seasons is total crap. In the end it's about the passion for the sport, not the individuals.

I just read a comment about showing respect to the riders and I suppose this has to do with Jimmy Mansi and me as well.I can talk only about my self though. I do respect the other riders.I have respect towards Pedrosa and Stoner who i think are very talented. As i menthioned i'm a fan of Rossi so i could easily bitch about them as they are the basic opponents for the championship.I'm not disrespectful i just don't think he's a great rider.Think that he won the championship and then these two last years the positions in all the races he has taken. He is seventh in the championship now with 100 points less from the first. For me this shows that he was lucky then and not unlucky now..

VeNoM-08, What are you saying? Colin had "the" ride of the race. He was LAST after Rossi lost it! You don't get THIRD just by luck. Colin ran a better race pace than Pedrosa and the lap times prove it. If Colin would have gotten past clean, he would have been closer to Stoner than anyone.

Pretty unfair on Hayden,he rode a good race and should have been third, the engineers getting it wrong, and falling of becausse you panic and open the throttle too early are not the same thing. Hayden is not the greatest but how can it be karma, Colin fall last year was all his own fault... good race yesterday for colin but he was very lucky to get the podium, still I think he deserved one after come from nigh on last..shows how good the yam woulda shoulda coulda bin in Rossis hands..
