One year ago at the German Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi squandered a rare Michelin advantage when he fell in the early laps of the Sachsenring event (pictured).
to make this title more interesting we could do with a couple more please valentino!!!

more interesting? how interesting is it to see stoner get away from pole and win all the time? rossi makes motogp, and if he doesnt have succes, 80% of the people aint happy.
since the 800 and tc and a dominating stoner have arrived, motogp is bleeding to death

By saying "if the package is at the same level" mr. Davide Brivio must have meant the Ducati with Casey. (Don't think he meant the Honda's) This implicates that they are worried..I think they have good reasons for it because CS will be strong on his best tracks to come.. Makes me laugh a bit when I remembered Jeremy Burgess said that the real champion contenders should showed up after about 5 races and that Brivio (at that time) mentioned Dani as the biggest rival for VR.. In the latest interview with VR it was CS again..It shows me that the current level is high..

the tc is high, the torque is low, the slides are few, the wheelies are ugly, and uncharismatic persons are too much in the picture

Come on Vale, we all know what you are capable of, make us smile!
Chris - You don't like it, fair enough. But don't blame Stoner & don't blame Ducati.... Put the blame where it really belongs .... with Honda.
More than any other single source it was Honda who thought their technological know-how would hand a big advantage to them if the series slimmed down to 800s & they were the main force instigating the change.
And love or hate traction control for making the bikes safer (tho not safe, ask Lorenzo or Hopper) its not the cause of the F1 like procession. WSBKs run TC & that series has rocked this year.
Kees de Vries rossi said 4 races ago when cs was 40 odd points behind he thought it was between himself and cs,i think rossi knew that duc would get some new softwear to help cs out after all he needs it,funny i dont remember him doing much when it wasnt in the sport.....answers on a post card

Didn't Stoner and Rossi go head to head at Catalunya this year?? Not for first place maybe but they were trying just as hard.... Don't know about the Casey tracks but after this weekend all the tracks were certainly bridgestone.......With the power advantage CS had last year he should have won every race....Rossi would have with that kind of advantage...

hedgeholer:
i dont blame ducati, i blame dorna for ******* the sport up. and i blame stoner for his lack of trying to make people happy. he's the king of ignoring the camera and i dont like persons like that. especially when they win from pole and dont get into a fight. i might aswell switch the race off and race behind my pc to have more fun.
as for sbk:
sbk is more interesting to me because the bikes are heavyer, the tyres are less grippy, the tc is less effective and the torque is bigger. this leads into a bike which is less predictable and moving around alot more than the motogp bikes these days. bring on the old 1000 and ban tc, wheelie control and the slipperclutch.

Calm down folks. The standard is so high now, that whoever gets to the first corner in front can pull away whilst the others jostle for position. The Stoner / Ducati combo are very strong at the moment, usually 0.5 seconds a lap better than anybody else, that is why Stoner is winning races, he gets good starts and with a clear track he is away...can't stand the bloke, especially after his outburst at the track commentator at the Brit GP, but you can't doubt his race winning ability and lets not forget there are 3 other Ducatis out there doing nothing!
The top class should have remained at 990, 22 litres and no traction control, serve Honda right for trying to manipulate the class.

I am a big fan of VR AND CS however I have to give you VR fans a bit of a rev up. CS won 40 National & 70+ state titles without TC. He came second in 250's on a satellite bike. He didn't get on a factory bike until the Duc and he wins. He is still behind VR in the championship and you guys have given up on VR and are moaning about CS winning it already because of the bike. The bike that has the same TC as Valentino's bike, that has the same tyres AND that MM, TE & SG go so well on (dominant package that). I'm sure VR is glad to have the worldwide membership of the "ignorant sook club" as his fan base. If VR reads these posts he would say to himself "they've given up on me"...
To get dressed up in a red wig, with a red nose and make everyone happy?
Naw I think his job, along with Ducati and Bridgestone is to go out and win race and try and win the championship. They are not there you make you feel all warm and happy. Maybe you should find a woman?
You say WSBK is more interesting, do you think the riders have more personality? Is that one of the reasons you prefer that series? How about Troy Corser, what a fun guy
If the WBSK bikes are that much harder to ride over the GP bikes, why are we not seeing the WBSK riders coming across and blitzing the field?
The thing i miss currently is the closeness of the battle in the top class, they don't seem to happen much anymore.
I just want top class close racing, the only thing i find disappointing is the fact that if CS is 0.5 secs a lap faster than everybody else in qualifying, you know that will mean a 5+ second lead by the end of the race, that is what we loved about 500's in the late 80's early 90's, infact my fave race of all time is 1989 Oz GP.
Bring back the 500's.....lol

Ray - Doohan also used to run away in the 500s, sometimes won by 20 - 30 secs: Rossi used to run away in his second and third year on the 500 Hondas: Pedrosa has run away once this year, but for the mindless Stoner haters, it's all his fault. He's probably to blame for global warming and not saving the whales, too. Mark S - no use asking Chris anything, he has the IQ of a bent brick. We have a championship with two top runners = 3 wins apiece, the leader has 2 wins and a string of consistent placings. Any of those three can win on any given day, it's down to who gets the right tyres/a bit of luck / makes no mistakes. It ISN'T because the top three won't/can't fight the whole race long

ANDY ROO... can you please explain to me,how a 14/15 year old casey stoner can win 40 National Titles and 70 State Titles??? Surely that would take 50 years to achieve or were they one race championships.I know you Aussies like to blow your own trumpets but thats a bit over the top. Dont you mean he won 40 national RACES and 70 state RACES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pagoda - google Casey Stoner Wikipedia. He started racing at 3 years old.. From Wiki: 'Over one weekend he raced in 5 different categories in all 7 rounds of each capacity. A weekend consisting of 35 different races... Not only did he compete in all these categories and different engine capacities, the young Casey Stoner went on to win 32 out of the 35 races. There were five Australian titles to be won that weekend, Stoner won all 5.' Yes, Aussies blow the trumpet: last 20 years of GP class, 7 Aussie WCs, 8 US Wcs riders, 5 WCs to Europeans (Rossi 4, Creville 1). So don't underate the Aussie dirt track racing competition - it produces per capita more GP champions than anywhere else.
