John Hopkins, who sustained leg injuries during a high-speed Assen qualifying accident, will definitely miss the next two races - and possibly Brno on August 17.
First off get well soon hopper ! Here's to a speedy recovery ! Your an inspiration to everyone with the way you bounce back and get back to business ! Its been a rotten first half of a season for ya but all your fans know you can come back and stand on that podium before the year is out ! Last year you had a runaway 2nd at brno and a 3rd in misano so you have that to look forward to !!! Can't wait to see ya back on track dragging elbows and pulling the best stand up wheelies in moto gp !!!'

Dang, well get well soon John.
I still don't know why Kawi didn't sub in Jacque for this weekend. He knows the track and bike.
So for how long is Hopper the rising star of MotoGP? Ever since 2002? He sure isn't lucky. Mediocre machinery and injury prevented him to get to the podium for what, four years? I really hope he can finally live up to the expectation next year, but Kawasaki doesn't seem the place to be. Maybe 2010 then? Doubt it... Don't get me wrong. I really like the guy and have utter respect for his toughness, the guy really is hard as nails. But he also must be one of the most frustrated riders in the field (bar most Duc riders ofcourse I'm afraid he will be replaced by a 250 or WSBK star in the forseable future.

It must have made good sense to Hopper to switch to the Kwak last year. He will have to stay with it because his CV looks grim for anywhere else. Still always the AMA to go back to. Someones going back thats for sure to replace Spies. Gutsy, hard and a tryer for sure but 6 years is enough.

Steve can I get to be the Tranny van driver, I always liked the post race van race to the docks, err we will be going to the docks after won't we
Hopper is a top 3 rider and will be at Kawasaki ! He has had a year to forget so far and some bad years at suzuki that's for sure but here is some facts for all of you non believers ... Back in his AMA days hopper and spies were teamates and spies never even came close ! Spies looked up to him and even adapted his riding style to hoppers but I will bet any money hopper was dragging his elbow before spies won his first superbike race !!! His first ever gp year he was consistently one of the top 2 strokes finishing and the best Yamaha 2 stroke at times and throughout his career formed a habit that he still has today ... Always beats his teamate by the end of the year !!! McCoy, Roberts, Vermeulen and of course West !!! Always ahead of his teamate !!! As for last year we all know suzuki was not the best bike on the grid by any means and where did Hopper finish ? 4 th in the world on an under powered bike and just behind the great VR ... Another very interesting fact I would like to shed some light on ... For those of you who buy your motocourse books every year ... Pick one up from 2002 on and read the special section where the riders rate each other on talent and skill and sure enough Hopper is right amongst the top 8 year in and year out !!! I think the riders are a better judge than us pub racers !!! Let's not forget laguna seca last year ... Both Americans were out of the race in turn 1 lap 1 and hopper got back on, came in fixed his shift lever and went back out and matched Stoners winning pace and set the 2 nd fastest lap of the race and did it for the fans !!! Now that's heart !!! And lastly but most important he ALWAYS makes time for the fans and signs more posters for people than any other rider !!! When all the other riders especially stoner are ignoring there fans and dodging them on there scooters hopper stops and makes time !!! I have been to many gp's and seen it many times !!! He is a top rider and a top bloke !!! As for you Steve ... I would hate to live in your shoes ... All you ever are is negative and the first to put a rider down when they have had a bad result or hurt themselves and the last to ever congratulate one if they do well !!! Sad, sad man !!! Get well soon hopper and come back stronger then ever !!!

Pushing limits? Its humour . Has somone hit a nerve. Everybody has time and respect for MOTOGP riders if they are true fans and if Hopper did ever read these comment he would wet himself laughing! Way to go ZX9r Steve

Sorry just woken up after reading "go hopper's" best man speech and missed my spot. Suppose nows a good time for home truths after reading the other comment from "Pushing limits". Hopper is good but after 6 years you need to be better.End of. White teeth and daft glasses plus bouncing around the pit with headphones on is not what gets fast lap times. AMA is not a pedigree its a bit of a laugh actually. If BSB are not careful we will end up thinking Cal Crutchlow will be the next Doohan aswell. Stop stalking the Hopper and let it go people. A helmet full of teeth, coming in front of McCoy and Vermin and a snapped chain dont make a legend. Still up for a top brew and sarny.
