there is only a few more months left in this year and knowing how BBC works surely they do have a plan and my feeling is the way forward sholud be. give us what eurosport gave to us or back off from motogp. fans makes the sports not just riders. if you can't produce it let the eurosport team do it but show us on your channel. it's all about the true passion and love you have to the game to the bike to the riders and the connection is how you present it is it gonna be a full course meal in a gold plate with good food( la toby/julian/randy) and desert( la free practise/qualifying/125/250) or pick it up from the rubish cans???????????????? just don't push us away

Lets not get silly. BBC is very unlikely to do the same amount of coverage that Eurosport did - let's face it, how many people watched the qualifying on Friday? Not many I'd say. Maybe a few more watched it on Saturday, but it's only the last 5 minutes in qualifying that are interesting.
If BBC do a qualifying round up programme (hour long to cover all the classes) then that's good enough.
Questions still remain to be answered about why they will not put the 125's and 250's out on BBC3 or 4, especially as these seem to not have programmes broadcast during the day. This is an important point for them to consider - Reading and Smith are at least at the top of the field and the racing is....
...better than MotoGP. Maybe the 125/250 racing is too much of a shock for the dull public who think that F1 is close racing...
Finally, they need a better presentation team, just like they will have for F1. We need a decent anchor person (Suzie would be ok, not my first choice), but they also need a first class commentary team. Parish is ok, but Cox isn't.
The ideal team (for me) would be Mamola as pit lane/racing pundit (as he is now), and Ryder and Keith Huewen (lead commentator) in the box. Sorry Moody, but Huewen is better.
It was an admiral thing to do, there are some...not so friendly people here sometimes
The BBC and Eurosport guys are keeping quiet about all this at the moment, which suggests that things are being worked on behind the scenes and once things are sorted, it'll all be made public. That's a good thing.
Us fans stay noisey because we care about the sport so much, and want the BBC to know why we love it - coverage, commentator teams and their knowledge of the sport. It's so important and invigorates more mundane races, whilst making great races "edge of seat" stuff. The wet 250cc Donington 2000 video on YouTube should highlight this well.
Well got home yesterday after work looking forward to watching fridays free practice and quali which was recorded sat down on the sofa in comfort its a shame that is soon to end.If iam going to have to watch 75% of the motogp weekend on the computer and not in the comfort of the tv i think i will pay the 99euros and watch the coprehensive coverage on motogp.com and bbc can stick it.

The BBC has already give us an outline of the planed coverage which is very much the same as at the mo Q2 (125 & 250) & Q1 (motogp) on the Saturday on the red button & the web site 125 & 250 races on the red button & the web site Motogp race on BBC2 while this is better than nothing it is no replacement for what Eurosport offer notably by the complete loss of the Friday sessions I may be in the minority by recording all the qualie / free practice sessions to watch before the race but once it is red button / web site only I will no longer be able to do that
My complaint over this whole fiasco isn't with the BBC but with DORNA for giving exclusive coverage to a company who do not have the resources to provide the coverage that is presently available in the short term this can only reduce UK viewing figures As for the commentary team & style of the coverage anyone's opinion on that can only be a personal point of view But my fears are the BBC coverage will continue as it is which is on a par with ITV's coverage of F1 Aimed at the lowest common denominator & just to note I was ecstatic to learn that the BBC had got F1 back from ITV as their coverage & presenters leave a lot to be desired
Dorna you have stabbed the TV company that has helped you raise the profile of your product in the back you have also alienated a large contingent of the fan base & out of interest how do the major teams sponsors feel about the inevitable loss of air time?
Crash.net has given us the fans a voice over this matter, thanks. Please continue to keep up the pressure Crash.net, the only way we the fans will have an influence is to continue to be given the platform to lobby the Beeb. If we put forward our arguments in a clear and concise way then we do stand a chance of being heard. At least we know our concerns have been raised, question is how seriously will we be taken? That's up to Belinda and her team at the BBC.
I dont understand how it could be possibly remarked as courageous for the people way pay - with our license fees to actually answer a couple of questions from us? Ok she did it on here and not over on the bbc site and its a rare thing to happen. but i, dont see how thats really courageous. maybe courteous is the word.
bbc care so much about motogp, that there Motogp website has not been up dated since the 10th on july. - is a joke in this media day and age. The the good thing is, at least we know that its not possible for the BBC to f-up our beloved sport up anymore than they have been doing and are still doing.

A quick check on the bbc web site shows that from the 8 races left they are only showing the qualifying from 3 of them . Thats a long way off being comprehensive

Toby mentioned during the 125 race (with guest commentator one V. Rossi)that he's been offered a job with Swiss TV, but commentating in Italian for 2009.
Unless the BBC make a decision NOW, the Eurosport team will be snapped up and scattered round other channels, and we can look forward to Stavros and Charlie stating the blleding obvious again next year.

I have watch Eurosport for over 15yrs on Eurosport but i do think people are being unfair on BBC yes mr cox is a complete bore but so is Neil Spalding on Eurosport.
I also believe BBC coverage before and after the MOTOGP is better i believe that they do better interviews with the Riders than RANDY M. Never seen randy in the winners enclosure chatting with the top 3 riders live on TV why ????
Randy sorry to say and i know has a lot of fans may know his stuff but is rubbish as a journalist his grasp of the english language is appalling.
He rarely talks to anyone non-american and only opens his mike to hear the bikes.
At least the BBC give a fair and balanced interview.

Normally watching Eurosport for my MotoGP, I thought I would give the BBC the benefit of the doubt for Germany & see what all this fuss is about and oh dear it was sadly an experience I am not keen to repeat. Quite honestly I found it iritating to watch!
Having enjoyed incredibly informed comment from Moody and Ryder for many a year I found the BBC version poor at best. Considering the BBC make light work of it by having 2 separate commentary teams you would think their contribution would be spot on and well informed, but sadly it's not. No depth to their commentary other than what's directly displayed on screen. Not a tremendous audio stimulus.
Spot on Mr Davo!

The main thing I care about here is what kind of commentary team they will have. Cause the ones they got right now just sucks! Bunch of morons. They should just hire Toby, Moody and Randy. I mean who else(besides the italians) can get Vale in their booth to commentate on the 125cc race.

Have we heard any updates from the Beeb? As an ardent fan of 250 and 125 I really want to know what their coverage is going to be. And I refuse to believe they were allowed to bid without putting forward some kind of hypothetical scheduling plan for a race weekend... there must be some kind of detail beyond the evasive answers that Belinda Reynolds posted here. Are we honestly expected to believe the BBC paid a huge amount of money and went into a bidding process saying to DORNA "it's only halfway through the season so we can't really tell you what we plan to do on race weekends..." ???
suzi perry looks 10 out of 10 commentator skills 0 out 10 randy mamola looks 0 out 10 commentator skills 10 out of 10

ive never considered suicide bit if steve parrish and co are commentating next year i might need a re think.Ive got kids bbc so please do the right thing. Why not try the eurosport team ? Think about it great commentary no adverts or subscription and you wouldnt have to pay for suzi perrys designer jeans

Well listening to Eurosports commentary team yesterday, they still have no job for next year!
Which means Cox, Parrish and Perry - God help us.
I will tell you now the BBC will not give MotoGP a decent airing, (or should i say they won't give the 125/250 decent airing?)
It will be an afternoon of inane drivel of Cox banging on trying to be witty, Parrish doing the idiots guide to knowledgeable race fans and Perry trying to secure her financial future by knobbing one of the GP riders!
Sling this gang of freaks out of the side door and give us the three Eurosport guys.
For the fans in Britain who pay the BBC licence fee, are the fans who should have a say in who does commentary.
So BBC,where was the Qualifying for last nights Indy GP then????????????????????????? Instead, on the interactive service, plus BBC2 we had the Bloody Last Night of the Proms. 3 channels, yes 3 Channels dedicated to the Proms,no Moto gp. I think thats just one little reason why i think you're going to balls it up.You're useless.BBC are already thieves with the outrageous amount of money you force us to pay, otherwise prison!!!!!, for your daily fix of........ repeats.BBC sucks.Thats the only thing BBC are good at,showing endless repeats. I still dont know if BBC are going to show todays race,i havent heard or seen no mention of Moto gp.

Truly gutted that next year I'll have to put up with the inferior BBC coverage of our beloved sport. Losing Toby, Julian and Randy will be awful. Yes they occasionally get things wrong, but that only adds to their charm. Their commentary style is enthusiastic, usually well informed and most importantly, entertaining. what do you get on the BBC? Some bird trying desperately to get into Colin Edwards pants, an ex average racer and some Aussie 'tard who seem to be commentating on the world paint drying championship by how entertaining they are. We'll defnitely lose all Friday/free practise viewing. We'll get no 125/250 Saturday coverage and will only get MotoGP qualifying via the red button ..

.. or the website. Neither of which is recordable. What chance of seeing anything from qualifying when the races are at Phillip Island or Motegi when the time difference means the qualifying will be very very early morning.
Unfortunately, there isn't really anything the BBC can do to change this. If Dorna stipulated they wanted only National television stations to show their sport then I doubt they really experienced a bidding war. This is more Dorna's fault than the BBC, they can only show so much MotoGP before fans of Songs of Praise/ Antiques Roadshow/ One Man and His Dog start complaining. Not their fault, they only have so much airtime available and maybe BBC 3 and 4 aren't National.
