Pedrosa to miss US GP?

Pedrosa to miss US GP?

Dani Pedrosa's Sachsenring accident, which cost him the race and world championship lead, may also rule the Spaniard out of next weekend's US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca.

Too bad he crashed out today, looked like he had the pace, and with casey catching up it could have been a race...

but with 4 points down... He'll ride... All he needs is doc Costa to give him that pain killing shot like last year when he won...

Bad luck to Pedrosa, felt sorry for him today. But as Rossi said after Assen "That was my bad luck race". Hopefully this was Pedrosa's and it's now out of the way. Stoner had his when his engine failed, so now they're all even right?

My lovely Dani was obviously the fastest rider today. He was excited for his summer break when he made his summer brake and broke while braking. That is a tough break, yes? Being broken by braking before breaking?

I know Dani will be back soon and Honda will undoubtedly continue to "help" with Hayden's electronics package.

I can't wait for a dry race in the Colonial Desert.

I wish him a speedy recovery, so that its a fair and even three way race for the title, and there is no excuses when Casey wins his second WC

He had ridiculous pace didn't he? 7 seconds in 3 or 4 laps It's always worrying when 1 rider is *so* much faster in these conditions, and unfortunately Dani showed why.

Get well soon Dani. Rossi and Stoner don't want to beat you this way.

While his early pace was mindblowing, all the top Michellin riders stuggled.

As soon as the heavy rain eased off they slowed or crashed.

All that early pace suggests a softer rain tyre and we saw how some fast early Mich runners dropped off as the race progressed. It's a pity DP went off as he may have finished first or forth if his tyres faded.

I'm a great fan of Dani, but this weekend he lost on his own mistake. Maybe he shouldn't push quite that much over the limit. Last year in the rain(Japan I think) he crashed also when he was in the front.

He had too many crashes this year which hurt him a lot, a broken hand before the season start, then one month ago ... and this one ... if he can't race in USA then it may cost him the Championship.

Get well Dani! SOOON!

Dani was never going to finish that race. He never rode for the conditions and was fooled by his tyres grip level, totaly over estimated is tyres. Some of you would know what happens to a rider in the rain going too fast for there ability. Casey was the fastet rider by 3 or 4 seconds in the race.
Considering the title chase Pedrobot made a foolish mistake. This was a big oppertunity to stay consistent in scoring high points. he still has a lot of race craft to learn, and when he has he will be very hard to beat.

I believe the reason for Dani's crash was running water accross the track he aquaplaned under brakes,if you watch the 250 race when the track was almost dry you can see the water running accross the track about 10metres wide,Rossi&Stoner either watched the 250 race or the crew did as they both took strange lines into the 1st corner that gave them a very bad exit they both continued with this all through the event as they didn't know how much water would be there on each lap, this maybe why Dani skipped away early as Stoner&Rossi battled exit speed.Really it is remarkable how little injury these riders get from these high speed crashes

Get well Dani Hope to see you back in action at Laguna Seca next week.

Dani was on the softer Michelin and got a great gap, but from his mistake he was clearly taking risks. The gap had gotten out to 7.4s by the end of Lap 4, but by the end of the 5th and moments after his crash, the gap was reduced by Stoner by 4/100ths.

Stoner said he was on a hard rear and took a few laps to build confidence and speed.

It was clear the gap had peaked and was going to come down. Casey was then going to do to his best to hunt down Dani.

Only 1 Michelin rider finished in the Top 7, that was 4th placed De Angelis. So it's doubtful that Dani would have won, but surely a 3rd was on the cards.

Hi Phil C - the top Michelin rider was Andrea Dovizioso (Honda) in 5th followed by Randy (8th), Toseland (11th) and Hayden (13th and last). Cheers, Mel

so really unbelievable crash... i think
i couldn't believe that Dani Pedrosa crash out from Sachenring, after briliant start, like usually he is and the gap until 7 seconds!
i hope Pedrosa will be back soon, my dream he'll be in Laguna Seca race next week.
and congratulation for Casey and Vale...

Only Dani knows what he was trying to do in going so quick so early, a big shame that it didn't work, Get well soon. The irony was that the laps that got him so far in front weren't that quick in terms of later in the race.
