Strong win in the wet. The riders with big race experience rode within the track conditions.

He did ride that to perfection.

And humble in victory praising Pedrosa like that.

But how was DeAngelis? Other than Stoner he would have to get the vote for most impressive ride?

Looking back Ducati really hit the jackpot when they signed this young rider. Not only has he been able to tame the Ducati beast but he has always backed his team even when things were clearly not going well earlier this year. Full credit to CS and Ducati for pulling themselves out of that hole they found themselves in.

Wait to go Casey!

Number 1 by plate, number 1 by nature and result!

Rode like an experienced master, didn't go to hard to soon like Pedrobot and lose the front end.

Bring on Laguna Seca.

Clown boy looks like a nervous wreck with Casey in such fine form.

"Pedrobot"? "Clown Boy"?
They're all great riders! You should show some respect for them all.

Fair Play - totally agree. Lets stop dissing these amazing riders and let the racing do the talking for them.

grumpy get over it. We know Rossi rode well - he nearly always does.
Every time he upped the anti Casey had an answer for him though.
If Vale started on the front row the results may not have been any different.
Casey had his measure.

btw. to all those that claim Casey can only ride because of TC... did you listen to his bike?
it was spinning it up like crazy....

in the wet the field is levelled - and Casey and Rossi still came out on top. they are the best of the best.

This fanboi crap is well CRAP, the top four riders were awesome and Stoner was freakish.

Rossi tried to up his pace, but each time he did Stoner just upped the ante.

I think the amazing one here is Pedrosa ... he managed to pull over 7 secs lead in just 5 laps ... not even rain God Vermulen can match that. too bad he fell ... what a day.

Agree about Pedrosa putting on a great ride. Too bad he didn't ride within his capability though. Perhaps should have waited for his rubber to warm up fully like Rossi, Stoner et al. Small mistake, big consequences.

Stoner is anything but "perfect". He's admitted that the electronics updates his bike recieved is the biggest part of his improvement this year. That's from the rider himself. Remember, 2 years ago on the LCR Honda, he crashed out of more races than he finished. He's not as good as his bike makes him out to be.

John Spoonmore Rossi crashed just as often in his first 500cc season.
Rossi himself has said it's possible for a fast rider to stop crashing, but not for a mediocre rider to go fast.
Stoner has always been fast. This debate has been covered 100 times already.

And in a wet race like that all the electronics are turned down significantly from a dry set up.
The on board footage from Casey's bike showed it spinning out of every corner.
In a wet race like that it's all about throttle control. Too much TC cutting in will slow you down dramatically.
The slipper clutches would have more effect on performance in the wet than TC.

John : Electronics doesn't mean only TC. It also means engine management (injection, etc). If the advantage of CS was only due to TC, the other Ducati riders would be in the front at every GP as well.

Stoner is a great rider, Rossi admit it. Why do all fanboys need to insult him like that ? You insult Rossi at the same time when he fail to beat Stoner.

John you obviously know little about MotoGP racing or the bikes. Please don't insult any rider in the field as each and everyone is God-like (compared to mortals like us) when it comes to racing a kicking, bucking MotoGP bike. These things only go fast when the team, tyre manufacturer, bike (and its setup) and rider are all in sync.
Get over the fallacy that Stoner is only fast because of his 'electronics'- everyone uses them. The GP8's weren't working properly until recently fixed- it's called development and innovation -just like the tyres, chassis, aerodynamics, engine design- it takes a clever rider like Rossi, Stoner or the great Doohan to help the team develop that technology.

"He's not as good as his bike makes him out to be"...???
Yes, the Ducati is really the best bike out there. Just look at the performance of previous GP-winners Melandri and Elias...

I wonder does Rossi ever regret barring Stoner from joining Yamaha, when Stoner was moving up from the 250 class?
He then took the Ducati option, and look how it has worked for him with the new 800 regs.
