Nicky Hayden's lap of Laguna Seca.

Nicky Hayden's lap of Laguna Seca.

Double US Grand Prix winner Nicky Hayden talks through a lap of Laguna Seca, where he will be racing in front of his home fans this weekend...

He certainly talks a good lap - but he can't ride an 800 competitively. Honda have been more than patient with him. His team mate continues to embarrass him. Time to start delivering or turn the lights out - that's if they haven't been turned out for him...

Not so fast sparky!

In all fairness to NH, its NH who has been patient with Honda. Hes been consistently screwed by Honda on parts and development, hes riding a bike thats not designed for him, half the time the bike has issues not to mention Dani is 50lbs LIGHTER then NH so of course he going to go faster.

Lets also remember Pedrobot isn't the best team mate to have. Hes an arrogant little @ss like biaggi. Not a team player.

When the bike is working NH can easily runs at the front. But Honda refuses to properly support him even tho he did bring them a WC. Its NH that needs to let Honda go not the other way around.

He will do MUCH better on the mini 990 Ducati in 2009.

Well said, Ducman 1098.
Honda's treated Nicky like the proverbial stepchild. Hardly justice for winning the title for them, despite the best efforts of his half-wit gnome teammate.

Now here is Casy's lap in comparrison:
Main straight: Full throttle
Turn one: no worries - full throttle
Turn 2 and 3: yeah, break a little but than full throttle
Turn 4: more of turn 2
Turn 5: same
Turn 6: s.h.i.t load of throttle
Turn 7: screw the dip there - full throttle and than throw the anker
Corkscrew: Throttle my man...
Turn 8 and 9: throttle Randy style (yeeeehaaaa)
Turn 10: break whenever you want, 'cause you know if somebody passes there you always have Duci power for the straight

That was Casey lap of LS, brought to you by Windows Vista (service pack 3)

No! No! No! Ducman - you are soooo wrong dude! HRC have given him every support. He had the chance to develop the bike to his liking while Dani was in hospital and failed. He supposedly works harder than anyone else - and does Jack. He blames the spring engine and then whinges until he gets the new engine and still does Jack. At Assen there's an electrical problem at Sachs there's a tyre problem, it's just one excuse after the other. And now more and more of the satellite Hondas are smoking him on a regular basis. The only way Hayden could ever run at the front is if Stoner etc let him ride pillion.
Bottom line is - he ain't good enough. I'll bet he's not even in the top 8 at Laguna.

I rather like the alternative lap of Laguna Seca by NH.

Start - Burn clutch out
Turn one - run wide out into the pacific ocean, get boat back to curcuit.
Turn two - hope it's the left hander i've been waiting for all year.
Turn three - Fingers crossed for another left hander.
Turn four - Burn brakes out cos i'm a fatty due to visiting Aunt sarah's pancake house for breakfast each morning this week.
Turn five - back tyre beginning to step out, due to poor choice
Corkscrew - wwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Turn six - run out of air for engine
Turn seven, eight, nine, ten & eleven - push bike back to pits
Pitlane - Put new tyre on.
Post race - complain of electrical fault.

Odd...every time I've ridden on Laguna it had 11 turns. Funny, that.

As for Hayden not delivering the results - I agree, but also realize that the RC212V was designed for Pedrosa and his 250-style riding. Nicky has shown a lot of class to not complain (see: Hopper) or ride like crap (see: Melandri) because the bike does not suit him.

Nicky is too placid, and probably listens to his father too much. If he does get a chance for a ride with Ducati he better grab it . But this string of poor results is not doing him any good in that direction.

Mullet, some points. First off, I don't think Nicky is one of the top 3-4 riders in the world, but he certainly deserves to be in MotoGP. He's won a title, fair and square, regardless of what people say about Rossi's poor season.

-Nicky couldn't really develop the bike much when dani was hurt because the major design of the bike was already done. at that point it's mostly doing small tweaks. The year Nicky got to do major development work before the season, 2006, he won the title.

Nicky didn't complain about the engine so much, he complained about the combo of the 2008 frame with the 2007 engine. Since he got the 08 engine in 08 frame, he's been fast, he's just had mechanical failures.

If you haven't yet, YouTube for some hotlaps of Laguna Seca and you may find that:

So true's lap would work on a scooter.
You can cut through the dirt and reduce the number of "turns" down from 11.
The engine exhaust note is as interesting as the description.. turn up the speakers so your cubical fills with 15000 rpm whailing.

Most hot lap videos do not contain paddock girl hotties giving lap dances as you may have originally expected.

3 wins in 6 seasons with the most successful team ever in the history of motogp.
Least number of wins EVER in a championship winning season.
Only 1 podium (3rd) since the 2006 season. (start/podium ratio of about 1:26).
Team mate wash/wiping/waxing/polishing the floor with him since 2007.
Satellite Honda's (with riders bigger than Dani) consistently smoking him.

Sorry dudes but you carry on convincing yourselves he's good enough for motogp if it makes you feel good but the facts don't lie! If Ducati or any other team want to promote bike sales in the US then sign him - if they want race results then there are lots of better alternatives. Now would the last Honda home turn the lights out

Sorry Dudes but Bad Mullet's post is my exact sentiments. Lets be realistic. Marco Melandri hasn't delivered the last 10 races and he is already getting the sack. End of the unemployment line for him. No SOUP for you
