Laguna Seca - Free practice times (2).

The session was red flagged with 21 minutes to go after a fast accident for Kawasaki's Anthony West. West walked away but a section of airfence needed to be repaired, forcing the stoppage.

Yawn... Has it finished yet? Oh right, was this the race or practice? man MotoGP has gotten so predictable and boring... a long slow death... such a shame. Don't bother with the race cos we already know the outcome... ELECTRONICS SUCK! For every rider!!! (except 1)

I don't know where Nicky found all that time but Michelin is in deep doo doo. Watching the timing it looked like him and Colin set there fastest lap on their last lap. Hopefully they have better Q tires but the Michelin riders are in trouble for the race.......

Don't worry Rossi Fanboys...you can watch the Clown at Cirque Du soleil as rumour has it he is making his way up to Vegas to Audition for them after the GP

Seriously man, how the hell are these guys going to advance that much in time? I mean, what about when Stoner whacks in a qualifier!? Its a joke. He sits in the pits, does 2 laps, kills everybody, then goes back in to the pits for another chill out session. Whilst everyone else is busting their balls MILES off the pace????

It seems a shame. To make attacks on C.S. on any of this is nothing short of moronic: He's doing as well as he can. It's his job. Clearly a fantastic talent. Ducati, and C.S. should be applauded.

Could the other factories catch up please, as otherwise our sport will be F1-like. Shudder.

What a hoot reading all of the excuses from the val-apologetniks (passionate george=grumpy_doctor?), last year it was tyres and they wanted a control tyre, this year it is ECUs and they want a control ECU. Well get ready, because the Ducati GP9 with fully stressed engine and carbon fibre frame is going to push the boat even further out while the rest are still floundering around trying to perfect TC. This is prototype premier class racing, we want the best technology, we want the best riders, those who continually moan about it being boring should just bog off and go watch something that does excite them and not frustrate the life out of those of us who truly appreciate what this is about

Yawn.... WTF ???. This is not the first time we have seen domination in the sport, enjoy the awsome display, it is NOT BORING, this is the strongest most competitive field l have seen in Grand prix racing since the era of Gardner, Lawson, Rainey, Scwantz and Doohan. Embrace Stoner, sit back and watch him ride and you will see easily why he is faster at the moment and beleive me its more him than the Ducati he is on. I do believe the electronic aids need to go but l still think you will see the same guys up the front regardless.

@danielbeugel: Mate, don't know what practice you were watching, CS did 29 laps to VR 32 in FP2, after the red flag he came out and proceeded to do 10 laps under or on 1'21, all of them well under VR's fastest lap of 1'22"7. Of these 10 laps on race tyres, he set the fastest lap of 1'21"8 on the last after the chequered flag was up. He worked his backside off out there.

Hehee ... next year control ECU ... Stoner winning ... then control frame ... Stoner winning ... what's next? What else can be done to deny the best rider to win?

Does Rossi like California so much that he decided to go sightseeing?Come on Doctor, you can't win races by going backwards. It's not every race that people will drop out to give you more points.FTGO

So Hayden still has fire in his belly. Imagine a podium like this: 1, Stoner: 2, Hayden: 3, Rossi. Championship: 1, Rossi, 203: 2, Stoner, 192: 3, Pedrosa, 171 + ?: 4, Lorenzo, 114 + ?: 5, Edwards, 98 + ?. Are the Michelins up to it?
Can't see Yamaha allowing Edwards to beat Rossi at Laguna. They know they have a serious fight on their hands. The Japanese race teams are too in-bred. Ducati has been a breath of fresh air. Forze Ducati! (Bye Bye Melandri, Hello Ben Spies).

Yeah ok FR
Firstly dont call me mate, your far from it dreamer

Secondly he didnt work his ass off for the times, he does it out of the box you idiot or can you not see that. There is no progression to a quick pace, its FAST OR NOTHING. I was actually applauding Stoners times with my comment but the Stoner shaggers such as yourself dont like non tribe members giving credit where its due. Anyway, it was nice to see Stoner struggling to get past Ben Spies. If Rossi qualifies well and finds a good pace, Stoner best get a good start otherwise hes gonna get his fragile ass kicked like he has done every other battle hes been involved in this year

I like Val just as much as the next guy but to the Stoner/Ducati haters let's like at the last fifteen years in 500cc/MotoGP. How many people actually won the title without the best bike? Maybe Kevin S. and Kenny Jr. on the Suzuki (which was always behind the Yams and Hondas) and maybe Val for the first Yamaha title. No one gave Mick and Rossi so much grief on the the 500cc Honda which was the best bike for a decade and no one said jack when Rossi was on the Honda V5 990 which was like the space shuttle compared to the other bikes. This is prototype racing - not a spec or single make series. The object is to have the best bike. Looking at history it takes the best bike to win - just like F1
