A great ride by Toseland too, he's outshone Spies and most of the other rookies, although Lorenzo has done well too at a track that he hasn't ridden before.

It should be a great battle for 3rd down, Stoner will be way out front with Rossi chasing hard, the rest fighting over 3rd.

Incredible from Casey. Like many I'm a Rossi fan (and JT of course), but I like Stoner as well. He has ridiculous standards (saying things are rubbish when he's out in front) but since he joined Duc he's been very impressive, and watching 2 wheel drifts from him are pretty awesome.

As much as I'd prefer a race, it's clear that the fight is for 2nd onwards. Hopefully Rossi will claim second to keep the championship interesting towards the end. I'd be happy to see Hayden, Vermulen or of course JT on the podium, but I think it's gona be a BStone 1-2-3, once those Michelin race tyres are stuck on. Hayden and JT will do very well to hold their qually places.

Shame about Dean Gelis hope he's ok.

On an unrelated note - does ANYBODY know how to get the poxy red button BBC qualy coverage to work? I wasted 10 minutes of my life during qualy trying to access it in prep for next year. No joy.

Treasuring the last few races on Eurosport.

Great effort by Nicky, totally thrashed that bike to 3rd spot. Really hope he can give Rossi something to race tommorow. Rossi will be aiming for 20 points, 2nd would be a good result.

To my horror I noticed Eurosport is now showing MotoGP in HD (High Def).
(How ironic, that the BBC have the MotoGP TV contract and this will end in 2009!).

BBC plan to show Moto GP in HD.... in 2010. BBC claim it's impossible before then because the bikes don't have HD cameras. If this was true, how come Eurosport are showing Moto GP in 2008 in HD?

Hey dudes, do not write Rossi off too fast. It's racing, anything can happen. And Rossi has that little bit of berserk needed to pass on last lap (this is what Pedrosa is missing) if he manages to stay with Stoner.

I really hope Belinder Rogerson reads this and explains somewhere how we're supposed to tune in for qually and the 125s/250s (preferably with a page on the BBC website for all to see.) I find the red button stuff painfully slow and pretty confusing. If MotoGP is on there, it's tucked away right at the back :-(

What an absolutely consumate performance from Stoner. Consistently the fastest in every session, and setting new bench marks each time. Finally, with a few minutes to run in Qualifying, he bangs in a sticky B and sets an amazing 1:20.700. Truly astounding. We are witnessing a rare talent. Feel sorry for Vermuelen and De Puniet. Both consistently fast but cannot make use of a B Q like Stoner does, and get swamped by the Micelin men in the final moments. Still, CV has proved he's a fighter. But it looks to be a Stoner-Hayden-Rossi battle for the race, with CV adding spice as he comes through. Excellent!
