Dorna Sports, the rights holders for MotoGP, have made a proposal to the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme to include a Hungarian Grand Prix event on the 2009 calendar.
Instead of Hungarian GP, I prefer to see Turkish GP which is more exciting!...

I agree Bulent, the Turkish track has a nice layout and elevation changes, it was well liked by the riders as well. This one looks a bit like Valencia.
Have you seen the proposed layout of the circuit? I think it looks very nice and it should be possible to see more or less the whole track from any place, a feature with which only a few tracks can be proud of. Let's wait and see what they can deliver.

I'm all for it. It'll give me a good excuse to go back and visit my family over there
Its a shame its not an extra race. Unlike Andrew P i dont have family there so i might just go anyway, at least the beer will be cheap.

I say drop Indianapolis and add Hungary. Maybe drop China to add Turkey.

Why on earth should MotoGP go to Turkey again. I think the attendance was less than 10,000 the same for Qatar, China and the USA rounds. I know Laguna was a great race but the crowd was around 30,000 and most were there for the AMA Supebikes. The Americans don't care for MotoGP. Yes motogp should go to Hungary

The Morgue,
It seems that only you and me want to see more exciting races, most of the remaining want to see some nice girls, cheap beer instead of a challenge track in Turkish GP!...
Billie,
China, Indy, Hungary and Turkish GP in the same league? I believe that you don' t know how to watch a real race, let me advice you that you should look at the results only to save your time!...

Drop Indy before they even have the first race there? Give it a chance. It may be great or it may be ****. The crowd should be good. Besides, more sport bikes are sold in the States than probably the rest of the world combined. Do you think the sponsors would rather have a race in Indy or Hungary/Turkey? No contest.

The US round is no where near 10,000. Where the **** did you get that? You are sooo off on the number attended. Total weekend number was 131,250. This is the states - not some third world country. And really, do you think that many people showed up to watch the AMA? It would take the AMA 3 or 4 races to reach that number. And how the **** would you know what Americans like? We been kickin' the world's ass in WSBK and 500/MotoGP for the last 30 years so I'm sure we have plenty of fans here.

As of matter of fact, Performance Bikes mag said that the state of California (which is where Laguna is) almost sell more dirt bikes than all bikes combined in Britain. We got 49 more states. Think about that.

. If they think only marketing then they should go immeadiately to Russia maybe China more (because of population and potential!)
Yes that' s right Indy is the first GP for bikes but when considered F1, the layout was not a special one!...
And finally if the crowd is so important then the organizers should care on Spain and Italy maybe France??? Let' s drop any race if crowd is under 50K people???

One thing's for sure. A whole bunch of people from neighboring countries will flock to Hungary for the GP. It may be a small country but it's at Europe's crossroads, close to the West and the East. Expect to see Germans and Italians rubbing elbows with Russians there...

What about Silverstone?...

Wasn't there talk about dropping China next year anyway?
Actually the layout was great for F1 because it was a compromise between high and low down force. But the layout ahs not only changed for MotoGP but the direction as well. Like I said, they haven't even raced there yet. And Indy is 2300+ miles from Laguna - Spain, France, and Italy could probably fit inside that distance.

Drop the British GP and add Hungary. At least the fans going to and in Hungary will not boo the winner because he is the "wrong" winner.

British Eurosport said attendance at Laguna on Sunday was in the 40K region which I thought was a tad low - fantastic race track makes up for it

dropping Ind would be idiotic. Not only is it more accessible for more Americans since its in the midwest, there are a ton of Canadian's (especially Ontarians like myself) who will be going down.
