I don't care too much about him, since he T-boned Harada to become 250 Worldchampion.

Dirk, check out the results of the telemetry of the last lap where Harada tried to be "cute" and slow down the last corner. Loris was laughing all the way to the bank when it was deemed aprilia dismissed him unfairly and the world championship was his FAIR n Square and quite rightly so.

dirk, my first genuine experiance of watching motogp on tv began with seeing that 250 race, and i couldnt actually believe what did and then the fact who got away with it. i thought it was mental! now ok, it wasnt fair but it illustrated how much he wanted it. but like RR75 says, hes a great guy who is humble, fair, and immensely hard charging. he left ducati with dignity intact - which they've clearly lost in the last few seasons. hope he has a far better run from now till the end of the seasons. go loris!!

Dirk, T-boning is totally cool, as long as you not T-boing Rossi. T-boning Harada is "just hard racing", as well as to T-boning Sete into the gravel, thats even better.
But that was long long time ago, I didn't like what he did to Harada, but ever since I can't remember him doing improper things on the track!
Really? What about his startline side-swipe of his fellow Aprilia rider Marcellino Lucchi at the Italian GP in Mugello? He just turned left on the straight and took him out right infront of the whole following grid.
He's kinda redeemed himself with his actions since but he's no angel himself.
Capprex was a very hard charger back then, win at all costs, but I think you would be very hard pressed to find a current rider who doesn't respect him.
Long may he continue, ******** to all the ageism around now, he is still around on merit

I find nothing admirable about setting seniority records in sports. MotoGP (or any sport) is about WINNING. Does ANYONE here actually see Capirex as a "title contender"? I thought not.
To compare his record to such a "legend" as Barros, underscores the absurdity of this "milestone." Capirossi is taking the ride of a more deserving upcoming rider on his assendancy. We are witnessing a has been collect a (big) paycheck with no hope of results. Give him his gold watch & send him on his way to the retirement village.

joeKing you are full of you know what!!!! are:Andrea Dovizioso, Anthony West, Chris Vermeulen, Colin Edwards, John Hopkins, Alex de Angelis, Randy de Puniet, Marco Melandri, Toni Elias, James Toseland, Sylvain Guintoli, Jorge Lorenzo, Nicky Hayden, Shinya Nakano "title contenders"? lets just wach Stoner Race Rossi and sour-face and save millions to MotoGP.

Guys, here I am off the subject a little bit. There is this free video on motogp.com, and it says," Rivals have clashed throughout MotoGP history" and they show some good old clashes... from Schwants to Rossi, I still think the Gibernau/Rossi's one was the coolest and Stoner-Laguna was no where near any really clash that happened in the past... I think Stoner confirmed how good he can moan, because if you see this video, you'll have to concord with me, there was nothing there that one can enbody to the stoners words... what an egg!

here here RR75
Respect to Barros but what did he achieve to be a legend if Capirossi isn't?
I liked Barros but his style was hardly as entertaining as Capirossi, most of the time I remember him as a road block!
we need bigger grids not smaller ones

RR75 you being a Capirossi fanboy blinds you to my point...
MotoGP is not a popularity contest. The show is at the front. Will people pay to watch old guys riding around 2-5sec/lap slower?
Yes Hopkins, Vermeulen, Toesland, West, Guintoli, Nakano, De Puniet & West ARE just field fillers & their rides are (should be) in jeopardy..and thats GOOD for the sport. MotoGP is for the FASTEST 15-20 riders in the world..WHOEVER they are..not what they WERE!!
If a more promising rider comes along...he should not be denied his place because some has-been has a big fan following. If you can't see the difference between Lorenzo & Capirossi in their careers..go back to watching bowling.

So jocking who would you replace them with? Where are all these riders? Sitting next to you on the other sofa while you preach from your armchair.

What is so hard to understand here? I said...IF..a more promising rider comes along he should not be denied a ride because an OLD World Champ has more sycophantic worshipers. Is that to complicated to grasp?
I didn't say there are 5-10 faster riders sitting in WSBK, 250 etc. who should be racing in 2008. BUT...judging by recent experience..ie. Stoner, Lorenzo, Dovi, Pedrossa et.al...there is some real talent outside MotoGP deserving a bike & seniority shouldn't be a criteria in giving out rides.

So who Joe King Luguna Seca Spies not even close to Vermie in the race ( Current AMA Leader) 15secs Behind Vermie 41 secs behind Rossi Toseland Last years WSBK champ 9th 43 seconds behind Do you not think that the teams are looking for another Stoner or Rossi?
Simoncelli is one that will be up there next year for sure but who else ?
