The reaction to Marco's recent form (or lack of) is a symbol of how unforgiving and unsportsmanlike the sport has become. I can't remember any rider being given so much grief or bad press by the industry or the public (not even Tamada!). In my opinion it has blown out of proportion, which has only led further to his decline in confidence. What with this and Dorna's insane decision making recently, I have to question my loyalty to a sport of which I've been an avid fan of for many years. Very disappointing.

Ducati will never employ Gibernau, they only used him to help develope the bike while Honda,Yam,Suzuki and Kwak did no testing. Its all a big con, just a loophole for Ducati to do more testing than the other manufactures.
Hope Melandri starts to mix it up with the front runners

Charlie

It is no loop hole they can all do it except during this break . Ducati are just really trying to push the developement of the GP9 to ensure they are competitive next year, as well the new technology with the frame would need a lot of work .All the Japs own their own race tracks at their back door and are running their bikes as much if not more in Japan. It is no secret that the media for Motogp is based in Europe and that is why the Japanese testing does not get much attention. You must remember also that Ducati is the smallest factory and have the smallest resource of all the motogp factories. Even Suzuki and Kawasaki have bigger resources and budget than Ducati

RW is right. Kawasaki has Oliver Jacques riding the bike all the time at Autopolis Raceway in Japan. Honda has that guy that wildcarded in Mugello (Aoki?) running their bike at motegi, suzuki has...whats his name, the rider who was originally going to be the fill in at Donington, their official test rider. Anyway, all the japanese manufacturers employ multiple test riders that ride the bike year round, its completely within the rules.

Wish they would sack MM, they would be doing him a favour. Hope he gets a BETTER ride for himself next year. Marco is better than this. Stoner is somehow naturally suited to the Ducati like no other rider, Marco just made an unforeseen mistake when he signed up. I reckon if he had stayed at honda, he would be top 4 in the standings...

I think what is happening to Melandri is the same only in reverse to what Hayden has gone through. Basically Melandri is a 250 rider, so like Dani ride inline. The Ducati appears to react more like a big bike and that suits Casey's Aus style. I think Melandri benefited from the Honda being designed for Pedrosa in that in mimicked his riding style. In turn the Ducati will suit Hayden.

It is a pity for Marco as he has never been given a chance on the best bike, engineers, and support staff like Rossi. I would love to see Marco on equal machinery, engineers and support staff to Rossi. Maybe if Marco had been given all the best things in motorcycle racing he would have a chance.

I wonder if Marco would act like a spoilt prat and place curses on other riders, refuse to shake hands, and complain about riders being to dangerous?

I dont think so as Marco is not a Princess like the lead Yamaha rider.

@ Juan H
"It is a pity for Marco as he has never been given a chance on the best bike"
- and how many other riders could you apply that too? The rest of the field (except Rossi, Stoner & Pedrosa) I imagine. Besides, Marco's on one of the best bikes but is unfortunately unsuited to him, as I think 800's may be - a little confusing cause everyone reckons they're more like 250's and considering his background? Oh well...
He's done well in the past, hopefully he'll do well in the future also - but at the moment???

I still think is so funny how all of you arm chair European critics can do all the "poor baby", "so sorry" "he'll do better" back patting to Marco even tho he has been in LAST place or in the dirt most of the year BUT bash NH, and talk cash money shyt about the guy when ever the opportunity comes up.

Marco has been an UTTER FAILURE this year but everyone STILL coddles him like a baby. But NH who was 3rd at Assen and been in the top 8 most of the year is the devil incarnate.

Marco needs the axe just like West! You people are such hypocrites.
