Rossi: I couldn't believe it!

Valentino Rossi moved two races clear at the top of the 2008 MotoGP World Championship with his fifth win of the season at Brno on Sunday - the Fiat Yamaha star enjoying an easy ride home after title rival Casey Stoner fell from the lead on lap seven.

Valentino Rossi deserves to win in every race, even with or without Stoner!

The fastest rider deserves to win no matter who it is.

Rossi being the true sportsman he is felt sorry for Stoner falling. Pity most his fans aren't so gracious. A title should never be decided from one rider falling. Rossi fans should know this better than anyone (2006).

Great ride by Rossi but I'm not sure how much the Rossi pressure caused Stoner's crash. If he was right on his tail but not when there's a good second gap.

I am a Stoner fan but I'm not that disappointed with Rossi's big lead. If Stoner is to lose to anyone I'd want it to be Rossi (or another Aussie). He is a legend afterall.

What a utterly crap comment tamie 46l! They all deserve the chance to win. Unfortunately, poor management of the series has turned it into a popularity contest and attracted hoardes of tools, just like you, to the sport instead.

My hats off to Lorenzo for giving a great effort. I wonder what Colin Edwards must be thinking now that he is seeing Rossi progressing rapidily to a WC and he is steadily becoming a back marker. These harsh words is being said by ME at Colin because when Rossi switched to BS some of his words was not so nice at all. Such as 1. "Take him off Michelin to where me, Nicky and Dani are left, we can kind of develop what we want because nobody can run Valentino's tyres." 2. "I don't think Bridgestone will be overly concerned in developing the number one best Yamaha tyre on the planet. 3. "At the end of the day Casey (Stoner) and Ducati are going to lead most of development." WRONG COLIN !!!

As Casey's fans, I'm very disappoint not to see one to one fight between Rossi and Stoner at Brno. I appreciate Rossi as he has a mature riding style than Casey. Casey you should learn more in keep cool even if you under attack to beat Rossi the king of kings in motoGP .

Can we get past the Stoner Rossi thing, Stoner can be a knob sometimes but in time he will grow up, if not he will disappear in a similar way to Gibernau and Biaggi, but they had a few years on Casey. He'll learn from this, and possibly come back a bit wiser in 09. With the performance gap between Ducati and Yamaha seemingly diminishing it makes a lot more satsifying race all round rather than Stoner pulling bigger speeds down the straight...Darryl Beattie what do you say now.

mywifeisitalian i agree with all that you said except for the Daryl Beattie slur.I think he is a closet Vale fan .Can you imagine the flak he would get here in OZ if he openly supported Vale and dissed the aussie rider?.He would probably lose his job over it.

Valentino would have won this race anyway, it was very obvious that he was closing in on stoner, now -unfortunately- the suspense was missing, next time hopefully "battle"
once more,beware Mr. Stoner....!

I have to say, I'm very surprised that Stoner has shown such a lack of bottle when put under a little pressure. He needs to accept that sometime to have to race someone to get the win rather than just clearing off into the distance. If he crashes again next time out, his head could really be messed up.

I've got to agree with Da Rock. Yes, Rossi took 2 10ths out of Casey but there was still another 5 of them to make up! If the gap had been closed to within a couple of 10ths then I could see where the pressure comments were coming from, but I'm not convinced it was anything to do with that, more just making a plain old mistake - happens to the best of us!

Stoner read the board didn't he? The pressure was not from the 2 10ths Rossi gained but more from not able to shake off Rossi after many laps at scorching pace.

no one can say if rossi would have won if stoner had stayed on, apart from his 1 mistake stoner looked pretty comfortable. all we could have hoped for would be a massive battle at the front. apart from that michelin were crap i think if bridgestone keep winning races then no one will want to ride michelin in a year or so.

rossi to win the title now, but hope the racing is a bit more exciting at the front.

He may have read the board, but I doubt 2/10ths had him with brown stains in his pants. I'm no Stoner fan, by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm just not convinced he fell due to 'pressure'

Actually, just to let facts intrude on the slagfest, Stoner had actually backed off slightly, his previous lap was his slowest flying lap of the race, so either the bike was beginning to tell him something or he was actually settling in to a comfortable race pace / waiting to see what Rossi had. More facts - Rossi's Yam was consistently nearly 3 kph FASTER than Stoner's bike which is consistent with what Stoner told RPM that Duc. had backed off on the fierceness of the throttle response at the expense of top speed (and the images of it flicking itself clear of the ground by several inches on BOTH wheels on a direction change were fricking frightening).

Not all Rossi fans have a crazy tunnel vision of just wanting the No 46 to win - not like this anyway.

I for one am really disappointed I didn't get to a see battle to the line.
Bit of an anti-climax after a race like Laguna... lets hope the remaining rounds give us some good racing.

can we take the electronics off the bike and see who can ride, I doubt very much we would see MR Stoner running away with the races then, it really should be advertised as Ducati with the the rider Mr TOSHIBA, the laptops are winning these races. Let Rossi et al loose without the electronics and i think we would see much better racing and Rossi showing he is in a league of his own, think we would also see Mr Personality Stoner in the gravel a lot more ! remember 250 days ?

Oscar - your 'facts' aren't exactly factual. A slow lap does not necessarily mean a rider has backed off. Stoner may have lost time by making a mistake. He may have been trying too hard which is quite the opposite isn't it.

Morning race fans, ?? do we think the fall was because stoner had just seen rossi closing on his pit board and was pushing, e.g. lost it under the rossi pressure OR stoners bike had a problem, mmm mmm, the first one i think!!!

I don't know if Stoner crashed due to "pressure". I do know that his recent mistakes have come when he actually has to race... hmm.
