Having branded the Czech Republic Grand Prix the 'worst race of his career', due to 'no grip at the front and no grip at the rear, from the first lap to the last', Dani Pedrosa failed to find any improvement from revised rubber brought by Michelin to Brno on Monday - prompting the Spaniard to abandon the two-day test after just eleven laps.
With just few laps, he cannot possibly test all the rubber sent by Michelin, some riders like Eduards improved at least a bit. Even if there was nothing new related to tyres, Pedrosa should use all the possible testing time to develop the new engine or whatever Honda has got for him. That is the number one Honda Rider? Whatever Rossi left in 2003 is not competitive anymore, Puig should tell him.
Looks like Pedrosa's riding Bridgestones come 2009 ...

Seem to me like exactly what I thought about DP is that he rarely puts in the work to benefit himself. Kudos to Nicky for seeing through this and feign injury, otherwise he would be the workhorse putting in 120 laps for the tyre manufacturer and the Honda techs. I wonder now with the incomplete testing of their new pnuematic bike is the test riders data is going to be any good for them. I would have thought that data from the ace riders would be a better measure rather than same old data from test riders. Oh well you get what you pay for....

lQQking at the Nakano's Gresini Honda's performance, I think there is still much for Honda specially in the two areas i.e.yes ofcourse the tires & the pneumatics.
Would love to see a fully featured Dani Pedrosa on a Bridgestone shod RCV with pneumatic valves in 2009.
And people call Stoner a moaner at least when things weren't going right he tested and tested untill the bike got to working right,Pedrosa has taken his bat and ball home to hug his blanky and sway back and forward in fetal position. I used to think he was Ok but he's just shown his true colours. When the going gets tough the tough get going,or in Pedrsosa's case, and Rossi's,we boo hoo to Bridgestone

Yeah, Michelin are the bad boys and no way I am going to give decent feedback to them now to improve us. I just say again that they suck after 11 laps. That will teach them how to make better tires. My American slave teammate can do the work and when it goes wrong I will blame him. And pneumatics scare me. Now I gotta go for a peptalk by big-daddy Alberto. Everyone knows I am the best. I do not need a WC to prove it.

Don't talk like experts now...
I don't think that Dani decides alone HOW and when the tests are to be done. It is HONDA who decides.
And yes... since Michelin sucks (that's the SAD Truth) I see Bridgestone the good alternative.
Now again the last year discussions will open with the Single tire rule and the prototyping bla bla, but since the 125 and 250 are more interesting than Motogp, i think they should do something.

if it is just michelin that sucks, how can edwards be up there with rossi's times???? there is obviously something amiss with the set up of the honda, or else pedrosa is losing motivation after his crash.

If he doesn't have confidence in the tyres why risk making his injuries worse.
It's clear Michelin has to raise their game for the next round so perhaps Dani's team think the tyres will change so much that the tests will be relatively pointless.

yes colin has done a good time, but if u read dovi's post it says that colin could only do 3 fast laps on that tire!!! so it sounds like it was a soft tire with limited life. people talk about the riders doing crap, but jorge, jt and colin didn't become **** riders overnite, its all about the overall package.

kwaka- seems that every rider nowadays "boohoos" for something. In my opinion however it is better to boohoo for a serious deficit in your equipment rather than for having to fight for your wins!
Michelin are struggling to give a good tyre, and Honda aren't the sort of people to upset. It wouldn't surprise me to see Michelin out of the series completely if they get it wrong next year.
Honda, a team who have generally always been ahead of the game, haven't helped themselves by being a whole year behind in developing their pneumatic engine though.

When the tough get going, Dani goes home!!!!
Sure Michelin are having a crap time of it at the moment, but it ain't going to get better by not having the supposed no'1 rider spitting his dummy out cos it's not going right, just who is supposed address Michelins issues then?
Whats up with todays GP rider are they men or just spolit bloody kids, first Stoner and now Pedrobot....if i were Honda, i'd suspend Pedrobot for two races give his bike to Nakano.
Go back 15 or 20 years i couldn't see Lawson, Schwantz, Rainey & co pissing about like this!

All I've been thinking is that I bet Nicky Hayden is glad he didn't push himself to be at Brno! Remember when Danni was moaning about Nicky and testing? At least he bothered to try! Love Ray Von's idea of giving the bike to Nakano!
Can't believe the comments questioning DP's commitment! He was leading the championship not that long ago for christs sake. Good on him for saying what he thinks, he should go and kick three shades of **** out of michelin's (and hondas) so called expert just to drive his point home. At this rate I'd almost bet that at least one of the factory hondas will change brands within the next couple of races. Surely honda will be doing all they can to get their hands on the bridgys for evaluation for next years 'one make' tyre rule. I've warmed to DP even after his missile attempt on Hayden in '06. He races for himself, no theatrics required.
Bob - why not question his commitment ? He is the leading rider in a top works team, he has responsibilities to that team and to Michelin, particularly data aquisition to assist in getting back up to speed. As Ray Von rightly put it, you'd never see Lawson, Rainey, Schwantz or Doohan getting mardy and going home ( and remember Rainey had a torrid time with the Dunlops in 1991, at Misano it was so bad he had to stop and change the rear mid race ) but he never gave up or spat the dummy. Dani, like the others are paid a lot of money a year so should act professionally and get stuck in...
What is wrong with people digging at danny.. their is no question that he is the next rider to Rossi on the grid (yes over stoner) as danny can do what most other's can't and that is ride around problems. Start of the season, no tesing still injured and he zips through the field and gets third. Rubbish in the wet 06, 2 seconds quicker than anyone in germany, sepang gashed knee still third. And this year he gave USA a go when he must have been in a right state to still be suffering 5 weeks later in Brno. The lad has more commitmant than anyone and has proven he never gives up. 2 years he has been screwed by Michelin and Honda and yet he still tries, I would not blame him.....

Darkwaknight - 'Er, 2 seconds quicker than anyone in Germany for 5 laps and then the fall that was obviously coming........... sorry, it's bull****, he should get on and help michelin with data, simple.
.. if he moved 2 Bridgestone (as it was ok for rossi to spit his dummy out last year & get them) Honda and danny gave michelin another year (they are the only reason michelin are still in GP's) and they have failed again after the first 6 races they are WELL behind BS. What more does he need to do, and what is the point circulating around a track you won't race on for another 12 months to test a tyre you wont use on a bike you wont ride again and risk getting injured?.
IMOP Nakano has the factory bike because Repsol are using him to get factory data on BS tyres for next year.. Mc will not be in it and it is there fault. Danny is a true racer of old & I applaud him and his honesty!!
