Twelve months ago Valentino Rossi arrived at Misano chasing Casey Stoner's MotoGP lead but left with no points to show for following a mechanical failure. This season though, the tables have been reversed as Rossi returns to his home round with a big lead and a confidence high...
better bike, better tyre's and a much better frame of mind, with the 50 point lead in the championship..
i expect rossi to come out here like he does at mugello, and except nothing but 1st place, at the same time, he's not gonna do anything silly and throw it down the road, but everyone likes to win their home gp, especially rossi.
I think it'll be a stoner/rossi battle again, they are miles ahead of the rest and michelin weren't too good here last season, but we'll have to wait and see...i hope rossi wins it, but at the same time, i'd love to see a good battle for it!
Rossi will have another engine failure just like last year and have to walk home 15km and cry to his mommy. Rossi is only on a string of luck nothing more.
FORZA HONDA!!!!

it doesnt look like hes gonna get an engine failure, the yamaha is working verry good al year, and so are the bridgestones.
rossi's gonna crush all opposition an win his sixth victory, he's strong mentally and the bike is much better this year. cassy has lost the initiative an won't be up for a stand up fight with vale. gooooo vale your 8th crown awaits.

@ Papa
More like after the race Casey Stoner will be buying Souveniers like a Yellow T- Shirt and a Yellow BaseBall Cap and a AGV Yellow Helmet with Sun on one side and Moon on the other side.
I can't believe PAPA said that Rossi was just having a string of goodluck. He needs to go and read the record books. 7 championships!!!! Whish I had that kind of luck. Last years blog was all about what if Rossi had the same package as Stoner. Well enough said. Rossi is the G.O.A.T. and the question has been answered. Now PAPA maybe you need to go and cry to your MOM. All in fun.............
P.S. Honda has a team??????

its all in Stoners hands/head. he has the faster bike and he knows how to use it. it all depends how he deals with the pressure,in the last two races he didn't,lets hope that this time he hangs on a little longer.

I for one cannot wait, the doctor is on his finest form again with the equipment to finally do as he wants after 2 years of mediocre machinery.
Stoner will be out for blood and fuming and if he doesn't overcook it will be a forcr to be reckoned with, can he withstand the pressure after 2 races with mistakes on the bounce?
Valentino Rossi certainly is the GOAT and will be on the top step i hope!

i disagree that its all in stoners hands/head, even if he wins the next 6 races so long as rossi comes second the championship is his. id say its down to both of them, tho stoners gotta hope that rossi finishes further down the order in some of the races else he's stuffed.

I liked the following part of crash.net report: "Team manager Davide Brivio, meanwhile, has given Rossi the target of a podium finish..."
Yeah, like Rossi needs Brivio to tell him that!
hilarious stuff...
In all seriousness I doubt Brivio is truly running the Rossi & Burgess part of the Yamaha team.
If Rossi had a string of luck that got him 7 world championships Stoners only world championship was because he too was lucky and picked the red bike that was faster than the rest last year. The Ducati was that much faster than the Yamaha last year Casey had time to check behind use an arm signal before passing this year his bike is about the same on most tracks and where is he 50 points behind I guess Rossi is just having another lucky year.

Must admit with the combination of Jorge being injured/losing his bottle, Pedrosa being crocked and Stoner getting back into the habit of binning his bike like in 2006 - the season from a fan perpective is starting to get a bit like 2007 - a 1 horse race.....zzzzz
