Cast your mind back to the 2007 San Marino Grand Prix. Casey Stoner claimed a dominant victory, while Valentino Rossi suffered a devastating retirement that all but brought an end to his MotoGP title hopes.
Fingers crossed that Michelin get back on the pace this weekend and that we get a race to the finish this time. In addition to Agos record, if Rossi wins he will have won at every current track on the calendar(not including Indy obviously).

Bring back the bathtub fairings!
joke.
I would love to see the 990's come back even the 500's but its not going to happen instead something needs tweaking with the current format certainly to increase the grid size which is pathetic. It needs to be cheaper i.e less expensive electronics or engine management thingys. Something must be done to encourage larger grids otherwise they will have to lower first point scoring to 12th place!! like to see nakano do well at the weekend come on super shinya!!
even if the grid had 25 bikes it wouldn't make MotoGP more interesting... as long as there are just 2/3 riders at the top every round and races are won by 6-15 seconds margin. BUT this is MotoGP the top of the top of motorcycle racing you cant expects the manufactures to be restricted too much. after all this is where all the new stuff we get on the road comes from. do you really think a 990 bike can compete with the 800 bikes? i think the only restrictions need to be:bike weight, atmospheric engines, and fuel type/amount.

If the factory Honda team switches to Bridgestone next year, the only factory bike on the grid on Michelins will be Lorenzo's. This will virtually mean a "backdoor single tyre rule". Michelin then will either have to choose the disgrace of supporting only sattelite teams (bar Lorenzo of course) with whatever that means, or withdraw completely from MotoGP.

All this talk of tyres, wonder how well Dunlop would be doing by now if they had stayed. Would they have been beating Michelin as well?

I strongly doubt that. Dunlop were very weak.
I really can't wait to see how the Pedrosa- Dovizioso situation is going to shape next year. Those guys are both very fast and will give no quarter to each-other.
Puig came to the point of asking for separate boxes, so Dovizioso won't steal settings from Dani! Absurd and ridiculous, hasn't ever happened before in GPs, at least not between teammates on the same rubber.
More Record's: Rossi winning the Championship (edited, sorry) would mean 74 total in all categories for Italy, 19 in 500cc and MotoGP, six (almost 1/3) of which would belong to him. In addition, being a 'Satellite Team' Championship winner (2001) and matching Agostini 68 wins makes it all very interesting.
Not a 'single tyre rule' please, just let Michelin bring as many tyres to a race as they want, even a night before the race, keep competition on!

Contract balls anyone???

I think for the length of time that Dunlop where in the sport and considering they had no factory team to work with so therefore very limited track time they where doing a great job.

Jack Mordino if that's the case you could ask the question wether Dani wants a team mate at all..???
let B/Stone be the only supplier, everybody on the same tyres equals better racing! it didn't hurt WSB when they went that way

Jack, I must agree that if HRC goes to Bridgestone then it will be a defacto 1 tire rule with exception to Lorenzo and a couple satellite riders. However, if HRC makes the move I can see Michelin pulling out of MotoGP because economically supporting 1 factory rider and a couple of non-factory riders would probably not make financial sense.
Along with the defacto 1 tire rule all that needs to be added is a standard ECU/Traction Control system then we'll get closer to a series that will showcase rider ability. I'm sure factories would be against it, especially Ducati.

Just give them a couple more litres fuel so they can run the engines properly for the whole race
Even if you boosted the fuel capacity up again, they'd probably just do like they are dong now - running it to produce mass amounts of power for most of the race slowly leaning it out more towards the end to conserve fuel.

How quickly people forget that only a couple of years ago Michelin dominated on almost all the tracks... I was surprised Rossi chose Bridgestone but he seemed to do it more to spite them than anything else. It turned out he was right. Michelin started the season off pretty decently but have really collapsed in the last couple of races. Time will tell if they can fix their problem.
To the folks calling for a single manufacturer, this is not a good idea. Motogp is about innovation and putting everything together. It is thanks to Michelin dominance we have such good Bridgestones now. The moment only one manufacturer hogs the entire field the development would stop. Peace!
the only problem with a defacto 1 tire rule is that it won't be a 1 tire rule. This means Bridgestone can favor 1 team with better tires if it chooses. just like michelin always has..
