With his 2008 title hopes all but over after falling from his Ducati at the last three races, reigning MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner is aiming to try and enjoy the final five rounds of the season - starting at this weekend's inaugural Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Ofc speed its not enough itself, you got to have some skills to win ...

Do you believe that casey moaner is going out enjoying it,i dont think so he will be on maximum attack trying to beat the doctor, unfortunatly for moaner he doesnt know anything but flat out which is to close to the edge so when rossi gives it a bit of a push moaner has nothing in reserve hense when he does push he falls, maybe he aught to try riding at 95 percent like rossi and have something in reserve

Speed alone is not enough! Well done Casey, well spotted. Here's a tip, staying on the bike for the full race duration is another thing that might help. (to be honest thats not really a secret) Worth a try though!

95 percent?? What planet are you on mate. Every single rider in MotoGP gives each race 110 percent at least, whether they are injured, ill or losing.... that's why they are in MotoGP.
Its such a fine line between falling off and staying on in this game, especially where everyone is pushing all the time for the win. I'm no Stoner fan but i'm sure he knows a fair bit about motorcycle racing.... just not as much as Rossi

It's not an easy business that's for sure. Technically speaking it is not possible to give more than 100% is it? OK mate, all in good fun.
Cheers Bibendum

It always makes me laugh when some people here call other people names and attack their posts, how long they've watch, not making sense..etc. I guess that's why they're professional armchair athletes.
redjaz is right in his comments. I forget where, but I think it was on Faster, that Burgess said he prefers to get Rossi pushing at 95% instead of 100% every time. At 100% you're at the very edge with little room for error, you get tired quicker, and you end up making mistakes.
Why do you think Rossi never panics if he's not leading? Why do you think he rides in 2nd place just tailing the leader? If he can keep up with the leader at 95%, when he needs to push, he has that extra 5% reserve.

I don't know for how long, and how closely, you've been following MotoGP. But riders don't push at 100% for all the race long. I think it was on the Faster documentary that Kenny Roberts Sr. said that he knew he could ride at 100% for 2-3 laps, but not more than that. The rest of the time was like at 90%. At some point Rossi also said that the first and only race (at that time) that he rode at 100% was at Philip Island in 02 or 03 when he passed under yellow and he knew he would get a 15s penalty. Ended up winning by over 20s.
Probably Stoner never rode at 100% for more than a handful of laps until the past 3 races. We can see the results. I think he has seen it too.

Here we go again, boring stuff in the news so Crash spice things up with a teaser about Stoner and all the lovers and haters get out the woodwork and rant at each other all over again - same old same old, too funny

Stoner is very good, but he's young and still learning. He's beginning to understand his hubris during his championship season wasn't justified - he simply had a faster bike. What he's learning now is to be humble in the face of Rossi's brilliance. Stoner is realizing that he isnt the rider Rossi is. Nobody is.

This talk of percentages is just stupid, but the concept is not. You always want to leave some room for error because errors happen. The way the Ducati is always sliding into and esp out of every corner makes you wonder how close they are to that edge where there is no room for error. It could be that Stoner is a much better rider than I'm giving him credit for and Melandri is also pointing to the same fact after his abysmal switch to Ducati. For those who think Speed is all important you can look at what Nicky did in 2006 and IMO he deserved that championship very much. Consistency is a huge part and frankly this is all Rossi did this season, apply pressure, podium and ...
C'mon Casey, your time has come to kick arrogant Rossi's **** into submission.............well makes a change from of Uchio having a go at it for once!
Stoner - the best and fastest rider in MotoGP, a guy who can race from the front and not from second, waiting for the leader to crash out.
