Stoner: It was ridiculous.

MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner finished his first race in three starts at Sunday's storm-lashed Indiapolis Grand Prix, despite 'destroying' his rear tyre.

''That's racing Casey''...

I fined it very funny when he does not win our it does not go his way there is always a problem but it was not down to him it was the bike our the tyres. But when he win you here nothing apart from thanking everyone other rider when there get problem you don't here them going on about them.

Why did no other Bridgestone runner complain about thier tyres being destroyed, or is this once again a Stoner the moaner problem? Grow up Casey before everyone goes off you

I was expecting moaner to want the race restarted but he has gone up in my estimations by using his head before opening mouth and seeing the whole picture. Mind you noticed how the mood was different in the ducati garage. I think is nicky does well next year stoner may well find himself out of favour with them.

I was there and Stoner's comments about the wind are absolutely true. Trees were losing limbs and splitting and a section of air fencing was blown away from the wall so I'm sure nobody wanted a restart.
Sure does sound like yet another bit of whining re the tire, though. Davi and Spies gave "The Moaner" all he could handle and neither (or anyone else)mentioned tire issues. It looked to me like Hayden, Rossi and Lorenzo simply outrode him.

Well I think Casey for once rode a race just below his limit which was the sensible thing to do. The thing is, that shows up his lack of riding skills where TC or whatever else that aids him could not be of much assistance. So reverting to good old racing where there was no aids showed where he truly belongs. Great to see him dicing it with Dovi and Spies. My hats off to Lorenzo....what a masterful rider he is....Once Rossi retires he is bound to win most of the WC's. The man is definitely fast and that continues to the very end....I think Nicky can thank the officials for his 2nd, because just before the race was stopped he was almost overtaken by Lorenzo as they were dicing it up.

I was there too and that was quite a wind. Blew the Yamaha tents down and made for a wild 40 mile ride back to my motel.
Yup, Vale's tires worked quite well, he had a couple of good wiggles but also made a couple of very pretty passes (one on Nicky in turn 16)as the rain was starting to come down again.
Too bad the weather on Sunday couldn't have been like Saturday, that was such a beautiful day!
In all, it was a grand show, and I had a blast. The only bad part is, I got to wait till next year to see it again.

Try to apply a little sense here, guys. The Duc engine is a screamer which constantly tears at the tyre - that's why they developed the big bang engines, to actually get the tyre to grip between power pulses. The track had two sections: a lot of old very abrasive stuff and some new, very slippery stuff. Nobody had data except for the dry, so a tiny miscalculation on tyre compound could have been very bad. Nobody argues that Rossi wasn't let down by his tyres in 2007 so why is it so hard to accept that Stoner can have tyre problems in 2008? He did finish a long way ahead of the next Duc.

Rider Quotes
Hayden "used up left hand side of tyre and it got all gnarly"
De Puniet "struggled with grip"
De Angelis "Tyre went off quickly, sliding a lot"
West "grip level deteriated with the weather"
Melandri "No grip front or back"
Dovizioso "We must improve our tyre"
Looks like Stoner wasn't the only rider talking about tyres to me.

Hayden's tires started going after 12 or so laps, when the track was drying. Apart from Dovi the other riders Kwaka mentioned never were in the mix. It's really hard for me to believe Stoner's tires went off after 2 or 3 laps, which is when he started dropping well off the pace set by Hayden and Rossi.

Don't be ridiculous man.....this one race that Stoner did not have data for... you begging people to understand this.....what about Rossi who goes to every track this year and have to gather data in the free practice, qualifying and then hustle to make a setup in warm-up. MAN SHUP YO MOUTH.... Amazing that Rossi rode lap 15 in 1:49.668 when everyone is suggesting the all tyres was shot. The measure of a Champion....all this with no data....ROFLMAO....SHUT YO MOUTH!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
