Honda says goodbye to Hayden.

Honda says goodbye to Hayden.

Following official confirmation that Nicky Hayden will leave Repsol Honda, for whom he has spent his entire grand prix career, Honda has released the following statement paying tribute to the 2006 world champion. Hayden will join Ducati Marlboro next season:

You just know, reading between the lines, that that is the biggest pile of BS on Hondas part.

Why not just say "Reposol pay the bill and we want to develop the bike for the Spanish mafia now in charge of MotoGP"

I sincerely hope Hayden dumps all over the Honda team next year.

Willy, I guess you're being sarcastic but Ray was dumping on Honda. Ray has a typical Hayden fanboy reaction because they can't face reality that their boy isn't that good. Three wins in 6 years not very good for a supposed top level rider. And if it weren't for a bone head mistake by Rossi he wouldn't have won the '06 championship either. NH's best days are likely behind him. Pedrosa will probably outperform him next year as he has done these two past years. Then the fanboy excuses will be that the Duc is only designed for Stoner. How pathetic.

Well, we all knew it was coming !

Just glad that Nicky has got on the red stuff.

Maybe his flat-track [ read loose ] riding style might suit the big power Ducati.

Either way, I think this is the best move for Nicky..... and for Suppo.
Having only one " real " rider in the paddock is bad news for Malboro.

They want results for there multi million cheques.

Good luck Nicky.

Did you notice?...a sour face prez of Honda corp in the garage during the race. Wonder if he congratulated Nicky. I doubt it. Just another hired hand getting the same corporate treatment as Rossi, Max, Colin, and now Nicky. Nicky was foolish to let sentiment keep him off the duc last year but kinda think pop might have had something to do with that. The idea that Honda is invincible also.

I don't like the title of this blog, but I'm glad to read nice words from Hrc
towards Nicky.
they know that everybody loves Nicky Hayden. Nicky leaves HRC through the big door.

Nicky Haden is not a bad rider, but he would have been squat without Honda and I am really surprised that nobody is mentioning this. Is he better than Pedrosa? Well he did win the WC when on the best bike on the grid but hey he only one Two races that season hardly earth shattering. I may be wrong but I don't think he'll do anything on the Ducati next year. All the bikes on the grid have closed on Ducati so its going to be even more difficult to win races next year. If he wins a race it will surprise me hes been absolute cac this season on a bike that Pedrosa won a few on. Yes I know nobody loved him at Honda thats why he done nothing? More like Honda saw he was not up to it and punted him.

rossi showed everyone HRC wasn't invincible when he left and won first time out on the Yam!

Nice to see HRC are trying to show a bit of class at the last minute but the problem is that we all know this once great marque is now a poor shadow of its former self.

can you imagine the GREAT HRC of old being manipulated by puig and dani???? HELL NO!!!

Haydon has always showed Class never bad mouthing either HRC or Dani and he had reason to at times!!! Good luck to the guy at Duke.

And the ****head knobs like marc are still bashing Nicky. Did you not see Indy??! I was there and he rode an amazing race, leaving everyone but Rossi well behind him.
His leaving Honda for Ducati should see him him back up on the podium with regularity next year. Maybe the the kids and rednecks will finally appreciate his skill..but I doubt it.
And may HRC rot in Hell! Along with Repsol and Dorna who share the blame.

3 victories in all these years riding for factory honda. Its a bit strange for someone who was a world champion. Its great of course. But I dont think Honda will miss him much. Its not wonder why they support Pedrosa more, and its not even about that Repsol is spanish, its simply that Hayden didnt show the results they expected. The world championship (with 2 victories) was an accident and will not happen again. Its like Alzamora (i think) who once won the 125cc title without a single win.

I can't imagine the boos for Dani at a track in their best market were something Honda wanted to hear. there is going to be uber pressure on the robobot next year, for sure.

by the way, forgot to add, I would really like it if Hayden becomes competitive rider at Ducati, and wont be like Melandri. Good luck to him!

Hayden's statement very classy. Honda's not so much, you'd think for an official parting statement you'd just be nice to the guy who's done so much for them, not try and slip in any barbs.

No matter how he finishes, Hayden's a positive contribution to the grid and an all-around good guy, and I hope he rocks the Ducati next year!

I'd find it very satysfing should Hayden on Ducati be beating Pedrosa on Honda next year. That would feel like justice.

Realy good news as far as I'm concerned, HRC do not deserve the likes of Hayden.

What I will say is this though even though Nicky has earnt my respect as he's an out & out fighter, he is certainly not going to trouble Casey & Valentino who are simply in a league of their own.

I would sincerely love to see Nicky do well at Ducati next year, it may well suit Nicky being on a bike that's aggresive if he can tame the beast I think he could do well but remember we all said Melandri was going to do well did'nt we & most of us was wrong.

3 Wins from 83 Races (1 as a result of Edwards jumping off his bike when he saw the finish line) not good enough.

Nicky is a 2006 moto gp champion baby!)your favorites not yet...
respect Hayden allright. he is the bomb!

"HRC president Masumi Hamane says: "...Nicky raced the 990cc RC211V with great success but since the technical regulations reduced MotoGP engine capacity to 800cc, both Nicky and HRC have tried our best but we have been unable to find the best balance between rider and machine necessary for Nicky to show his full potential, so we have decided to part company at the end of the season. . ." ---Reading between the lines Hamane means the best balance between Nicky and the Pedrosa machine.
