Rossi 'back to work'.

Rossi 'back to work'.

Newly-crowned 2008 MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi finished second and fifth on his return to action, during two very different free practice sessions at Phillip island on Friday.

This "we" is catching!!! Both Rossi and Jorge, Stoner of course. Maybe they all have the same script writer. On that thought, maybe MotoGP is just like the Truman show and we are all just pawns in a huge conspiracy. The TV ratings would be huge - particularly in Italy and Spain. Hey ... where does Puig come from?? How else could he be involved in Dorna, also Pedrosa's manager, without it being a conflict of interest?? It's clever using us to write the script though isn't it. We predicted Hayden to Ducati months before it happened ...... where are my tablets!!!!

Rossi: "I am quite happy with this morning's session"...."In the wet we were a bit slow",
now then, So it is Rossi "I" who is fast and happy, while it is "we" are slow.... it must be Burges or somebody that is hanging on the bike and makes it slow! yes Belly, Rossi and Stoner suffer the same illness!!

How about - I = he personally was happy with the morning session and then "We are a bit slow in the wet" ... so the team weren't happy with the whole set up which meant they were a little slower than they wanted in the wet conditions ?
Conspiracy theory my ****, you only read it one way not from both sides !

damn fine point three..

as much as people say rossi won't stop pushing, it must be hard when u know u've clinched the championship, to go out and push at 100% putting urself on the edge...

also, rossi hasnt really been outstandingly fast in the practice sessions this season, and its not like he's had a great amount of wet weather testing on the bridgestones..

im sure with it being dry, he'll be in the top 2 come this time tomorrow..

I'm looking forward to the race, no pressure on rossi winning the title, just enjoy the racing now and hopefully its gonna be good..

I think Rossi will push hard this weekend. It's not in his nature to hold back for any reason: that's why he's got 8.

Jimmy - how many wet practice sessions and races have there been in 2008?? Rossi has had just as much wet practice with the bridgestones as everyone else.

You don't have to continue to find excuses to prove to yourself just how good rossi is, or to explain why you wave his flag. He will do that for you!!

Rossi hasn't been a great qualifier historically, he usually manages to nail it for the race though. I think this season we saw a transition halfway through where he did begin putting huge importance on qualifying on the front row. The days of him starting in 3rd or 4th row and winning are probably gone now and he knows this. However, everyone now knows that if Rossi starts on the front row it's good enough for him after Laguna.

These practices showcase their best times, the race pace is what's important. Lets wait and see how the race goes but I doubt Rossi will let anyone win just because he's already clinched the 08 championship and doesn't have to push hard anymore.

when Rossi said "we were a bit slow" he meant him and the bike/team working on settings etc..not sure what did Stoner mean when he said "we have to have an operation" - like how many ppl are having their wrist operated on??...maybe he belongs to some kinda club of wrist injurers>?
If Rossi uses his mental strength to play with other riders minds - no wonder Stoner is his toughest rival....

yet you take every opportunity you can to wave Caseys flag. Nothing wrong with that but don't critizise others for doing the same...

To me, it seems that Rossi has the type of competition in him that he won't be happy settling for a lower position than he would have achieved going all out even though he's got the championship.

@blue hurricane - I take every opportunity to reply to posters of dogma regardless of the colour flag they fly. I do not hide the fact that I like Stoners approach to his work, Rossi the same, Bayliss and Haga the same, Hayden the same - even Hopper makes the Kawa do things it shouldn't do. The flag I fly the highest though is about analysing what happens, why it happens, and try not getting involved in the prepubescent "rider bashing" that occurs here a lot. It is the spraying of dogma I reply to - not the waving of flags. I have posted a few "Marco is a Cat" style posts, concerning his work ethic and committment, but not because he poses some "threat" to any particular rider.
