Abe is reported to have collided with a truck, while riding a motorcycle near the city of Kawasaki, after it made an 'illegal' U-turn in front of him.

Shock is only what I am feeling right now . I cant believe we have lost one of the most flamboyant GP riders of our time.

Norifumi may you rest in peace ... you inspired me to learn how to ride motorbikes and for that I cannot thank you enough.

Yasutomo Nagai, Dajiro Kato, Norifumi Abe.... Great riders, leaving great memories, but a sad list. This was a great day until I heard the news. :((( I remember his debut at the Japanese GP very well and I will never forget it. One of the best rides I have ever seen.

A great great loss since Daijiro Kato's death in 2003 to the motor sports community and fans in Japan and perhaps all around the world .
So sad.
Norick Abe and Daijiro Kato had been very close friends since they were kid riders.
I heard that they were so close specially when they were amateur racers at very young ages that Norick sometimes stayed at Daijiro's house the nights before racing and they were almost like brothers.
Now they are both gone so young...

This reminds me of that time a train got derailed in Japan because the train driver was stressed because he was late!! Japan stop worrying so much about time and more about life!!
