Former Repsol Honda MotoGP race winner Tohru Ukawa will return to the premier-class for the first time since his wild-card ride for HRC at Motegi last season, when he makes his Moriwaki debut at the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix, to be held at Shanghai, on May 1.

"When I heard that MotoGP was going to Shanghai I thought how fun it would be to ride at the new race track," said Ukawa, who was announced as the team's test rider last month.

"Then, seeing the track layout later, it interested me even more. Not much time is left before the GP and I do not know how far we can go with the limited tests, but I will of course do my best," added the Japanese.

Ukawa will be riding the latest version of the MD211VF, which uses a Honda RC211V engine in a Moriwaki chassis.

The Shanghai circuit, which held it's first Formula One race last season, consists of seven right hand corners, seven left corners and a 1.175km main straight.
