Ducati Corse test rider Vittoriano Guareschi was injured today (Wednesday) during the second day of a three-day test session at Mugello.

Ducati Corse test rider Vittoriano Guareschi was injured today (Wednesday) during the second day of a three-day test session at Mugello.

The Italian fell on the exit of the San Donato corner, fracturing a bone in his right wrist.

Guareschi's place will be taken by Sterilgarda Ducati's World Superbike rider Ruben Xaus who, for Thursday morning only, will substitute for Guareschi in order to complete the planned testing program.

Former MotoGP rider Xaus will then head to Misano for this weekend's round of the Corona Extra Superbike World Championship, practice for which starts on Friday morning.
