The FIM has confirmed that it intends to drop the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park to make way for the new Red Bull Indianapolis GP.

As expected, the existing 18 round season will thus remain, starting at Qatar on March 9 (a Sunday rather than Saturday race) and concluding at Valencia on November 2.

As already announced, the new Indy event will be held on September 14 with the first US round, at Laguna Seca, taking place on July 20.
